Bodyshots could be a factor too. Wlad never throws them.

4 knockouts in a row against 4 fighters with only 1 loss each.

Impressive performance by Povetkin, i can't wait for him to fight Wilder.

As has been said Wach looked in pretty poor shape and the beating he took from Wlad can't have helped but Povetkin really ripped those body shots and caught Wach with loads of punches he didn't see. Shot for shot Wlad's a much harder puncher, but pure power isn't everything.

If Wilder can use jis jab as efficiently against Povetkin as he did Stiverne and fight a truly discipline match, Wilder can edge it on points, Povetkin struggles with tall guys with a reach advantage and a good jab. I was trolling a little with the Wach by KO prediction, but as I thought he looked less impressive against a slow plodder like Wach than he has recently.

Wladimir has had 12 round fights with only 1 single attempted body shot.

He does not ever attack the body. And for logical reasons.

    "If it ain't broke..."

You're wrong with close to 50% of all your predictions. You can't just say you were "trolling" or "joking." Because that is how we would view your correct picks as well. So just stop with that nonsense if you take yourself seriously at all. Just stop.

Povetkin is a good heavyweight but Wilder matches badly for him, I think even more so than Wlad even, I just can't help but think that combination of speed and reach will be hard for Povetkin to overcome but that's not to say that Wilder definitely beats him, it's about 50/50 in my eyes.

Molina and Duhappas had enough success or "exposed" enough of Wilders overstated aspects that this thought process seems along the Wilder-glorification line of thought.

Think of Eric Molina and Johan Duhappas real quick. Just think about them. Then think Alexander Povetkin.

Do you not feel that all of Wilders' weaknesses are things that Povetkin particularly exposes?

And what does Wilder bring to the table that threatens Povetkin? Is "size" all you've got?

That's exactly why I think if Wilder ever comes off with a victory here it will look very flattering on him, when it's a matter of simply bad stylistic match up. (Not to take away any credit, it'd be a great victory for Wilder either way of course)

Size is one of the biggest aspects, size, reach, speed, power. I think he's got a decent jab and Povetkin is a bit stiff at the top at times which will be used to keep him at bay well, combined that with his good footspeed I can really see Povetkin struggling with it, then Wilder would be silly not employ Wlad's gameplan to completely negate Povetkin at least to some extent.

I think if we went through top 20 heavyweights and have them both fight each one, Povetkin would do significantly better, but sometimes styles really do make fights.

OK. I respect your opinion I just view some of those things differently.

I actually think Povetkin has good head movement and uses it to vault big counters well, especially on bigger guys, he's just really inconsistent with it.

Wilder is nowhere comparable to Wladimir's strength in the clinch/inside. He can't employ Wladimir's strategy.

Povetkin has a gas tank that many have been critical of in the past but I think that has changed some and find that aspect to be an understated question mark for Wilder, too.

Wilder does most of his damage in wild and reckless flurries lacking discipline. That would be exactly what Povetkin wants. And once again, the opposite of what Wladimir did/does.

Punch resistance. Povetkin went down to the mat (in one fight) but other than that, he doesn't ever seem to get hurt. Wilder? Yeahhhhh...

Actually its been added up, not by me, my accurate prediction rate for every match this year is 73% and if you add in the PBC robberies and draws my prediction rate is actually 81% so :fy

I've seen you literally predict both fighters to win countless times. And afterwards, well, of course you were right!

I'd be batting 100% if I did the same.
