If you thought he was good at 168 wait till you see him at 175. Was talking to someone close to the camp earlier who reckons when he steps up you will start seeing his underrated power and I believe him! People tend to forget that Joe kills himself making 168, when he's closer to his natural weight he'll be untouchable. No fighter is unbeatable but I would be amazed if Joe didn't finish his career undefeated now :good
Personally i'll be dissapointed if they go for Woods instead of Hopkins, especially after calling him out so much. I do think he will be better at 175 though, probably should have moved up a lot sooner.
He has a full set of teeth and is very close to the Calzaghe camp. In any case it didn't need him to tell me, I always thought and Joe has always said himself that he would excel at 175 when he was finished unifying 168.
It'd be impressive if he beat Hopkins AND Dawson. ****, id be impressed if he beat a Hopkins victim in Glen Johnson. Calzo should beat Tarver though.
It's not Calzaghe who doesn't want the fight, it's Hopkins who doesn't want the fight. So don't expect a fight with him and Calzaghe anytime down the line.
we will just see a guy who never beat anybody that was anybody at all getbeat by a 43 year old great fighter. What else were you exspecting him to actually stop someone.
"Never beat anybody"? I don't want to get into another "Calzaghe resume" thread but Reid, Woodhall, Brewer, Lacy, Kessler, Mitchell are all decent scalps.
He might be fresher at 175 than he was at 168. And hopefully a move up in weight will extend his career.
I wont be surprised if he fights Woods, dood is a homebody and will wrap up his career where it began and where it will end, and in the end, hell be a british great and thats all....
