Wait until Cotto Fights another top guy

Excuses come from fans. Call it what you want, spin it in your preferred direction, but it still does not change the facts. To interpret things like practice, training, conditioning, etc. having no bearing and being excuses, leads to the opinion that these guys were just born this way, with all skills and attributes predetermined. This is like saying no amount of teaching will improve your level of mentality. Failing the test because you didn't study is just an excuse. You would have failed anyway.

 

Not being adequately prepared for a fight is no one elses fault but the fighter himself. 1. for accepting the fight without the resources needed to help you be at your best. 2. for being an arrogant ***** who thinks a good preperation is not needed and taking the fight anyway.

 

The thing is that Martinez fought REAL, HEALTHY middleweight.

He fought a 180+ JJCJ. He was not looking to fight WW like Cotto.
Plus he beat a 28 year old Palvik, not a 39 year old, 14 month layoff, torn shoulder having no leg having fighter.
