Therein lies the problem. You clearly don't recognize the CENTRAL IMPORTANCE of punch resistance to boxing. And you wonder why I do what I do? Your very obstinacy in REFUSING to recognize that MANY fighters have glass jaws is exactly why I do what I do!

You chose some of the worst examples you idiot!!! The Fraudley KO woulda KO'ed pretty much any heavy and well as the Hatton KO, meany a lw would've been KO'ed by that one.

I don't get this thread. Are there people who deny that some people can take a punch better than others an that glass jaws exist? I have a hard time believing that. However i do feel that people need to be nuanced about this, and when they're not, they deserve to be taken to task for this. And it works both ways. Just because a guy gets knocked out, that doesn't mean that his punch resistance is totally worthless. You have to look at the situation, like how many wars has he been in, at what stage of the fight did it happen, how hard did the other guy hit. And yes, mental toughness, confidence and things like that have a lot to do with one's ability to take a punch too. But there's still a difference between people's physical ability to take shots on the jaw.

    Wrong again.

The problem lies in the fact that you cant comprehend that someone can recognise the importance of the trait, and still not give a damn.

Recognising the issue, doesnt mean you have to spend most of your time as a self proclaimed 'boxing fan', bashing on respectable and hard working fighters.

Yes, please feel free to point out the many times ive REFUSED to recognise that MAAAANY fighters have poor punch resistence. Ill help you out, I havnt.

As usual you dont know what you're talking about, i have no problem admitting that plenty of fighters, including many that are my favorites, cant take a punch very well. Its only in your bizarro mind that it somehow should disqualify a fighter and individual of the respect he is due, regardless.

Hey look buddy, he started **** with me. I WAS merely expressing my views, asserting the importance of punch resistance, and providing actual examples. He chose to question what kind of boxing fan I was and such and attack me personally in other ways.

Fact is, most fanboys on here can't accept that their heroes either a) have glass jaws; or that b) a high percentage of KOs are caused by poor punch resistance rather than their idols being "monster hitters." I question their fantasies and that's why they hate me for it. Rico too.

Sorry nuthuggers, but YES, glass jaws DO exist in boxing!!!!

    :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

Yeah, that's what you all say. Prove it. Fraudley was KNOCKED OUT COLD by a mediocre fighter with a sub-.500 KO percentage. And he was put on ***** street by journeymen before that. He has an OBVIOUS glass jaw.

No Zakman, once again, as usual, you are wrong.

Nobody cares that you bring punch resistence up as an issue, its the obvious disrespect, and smugness (just look at your pathetic avatar) in which you do it.

But hey, dont let that stop you from your great service you are doing the boxing world by harping on and on and on about these fighters.

so express your views in a way that reflect your understanding.

i'm no angel, i've ridiculed both nallege and anglosaxon in whisper, but only because it's blatantly obvious that they are born losers trying to get their jollies online.

but against anyone - anyone - who challenges your view in an objective way, show what you're made of and either concede a point or meet them head on.

people will respect you online if you post true, even if they don't agree with you.

See this is what I don't get - and to me it is the difference between being a discerning, critical boxing fan and a hero-worshipper. We seem to have more of the latter here than we did when I started following the sport. According to the fanboys and hero-worshippers, you are being "disrespectful" if you point out OBVIOUS flaws in fighters. No, you have to slobber at their feet, "respect" them uncritically - **** that **** kiddo. Glass jaws exist, and a lot of fighters have them. Oh, and some fighters are bums, too!

Classic example of the uncritical hero-worship that is so common among modern boxing fans - along with whining about stoppages, and other similar crap. Like these ****ing woosies whining about Maccarinelli getting KOd. :patsch In my day, boxing fans WANTED to see brutal KOs.

Your need to categorize anyone that disagrees with you as 'fanboys' is pretty lame. No, plenty of people just see your tired out rants as simply juvenile and pathetic, no fanboy criteria needed for that one im afraid.

You cant see the difference in actually DISCUSSING punch resistance, and bringing it up like an intelligent individual as a critic on certain fighters, from spamming these boards with 'GLASS JAW FRAUDS' remarks, stupid pictures, bum labels, ect.... ?.

anyways, im outta here.... i just had to say my piece. Its just pretty fickle and lame. And all so ironic that your Charlies biggest apologist

Khan has a serious case of Bambi legs here just like the video of the Prescott KO. It never grows old, it's the gift that keeps on giving.
