Louis at 6'2" fought just under 200lbs for his early career and 210lbs for the latter. Taking into account todays nutrition he'd be 220lbs+ easy. How the hell do you come to the conclusion he'd be a very good CW?? Oh and Louis, the version that actually fought, would smash the **** out of Adamek.
From another thread: On his record he doesn't get a look into the top 10. He gets top 20 though. Head to head he is a monster, if you match every ATG HW 10 times each against all others he will emerge top 5 on the list at worst. * Two losses only, both causes by injury, both fights stopped while he was leading on all cards. * Has a combination of height, reflexes, ring generalship, chin, toughness, power and an awkward technique that is a stylistic nightmare for EVERY ATG. Lennox is the only one Vitali doesn't monster physically. Not only is Vitali bigger than any other ATG, but he is bigger and tougher than anyone any of them ever faced, and he is masterful at utilizing his size. * He is huge, skillful, always in top shape, and always brings his A-game. * He dominated his mediocre opposition more than any other ATG heavy. There are no close disputable decisions on Vitali's record. He doesn't drop four rounds to a game opponent before dispatching him, ever. All his mediocre opposition, he shuts them out on the scorecards while patiently wearing them down, and then stops them. That's his style, and it is going to be a huge task for any ATG to take him away from it, because Vitali's chin and recovery powers are both first rate. There are no Billy Conns or Doug Joneses on Vitali's record, not a one. * There are no fights where he was clearly one punch away from being KOed either. Other ATGs cannot claim this. Bert Cooper had a prime Evander Holyfield slobbering all over himself. Henry Cooper had Ali in big trouble. The only guy to shake Vitali up was Lennox, but Vitali ate everything Lewis threw at him even when all bloodied up. So the bad news for Klit haters is that they only have two things to snipe at. Two losses due to injury, and a weak resume. But even without looking at other HW ATG's fights against fellow ATGs, we see that Vitali is far more consistently dominant against average to good opposition than any of the Alis, or Foremans, or Holyfields were. Not only that, but he presents a physical and stylistic challenge that none of them ever faced before. And the X factor. A lot of ATGs are black Americans who never really boxed against Eastern Europeans. They never faced a giant with an iron chin and an obvious mean streak, who looks like a 6'8" Terminator, comes from the Soviet bloc and has a 95% KO percentage. That's something they are not used to and have no experience with, and the unknown is always a little frightening. This is another unknown factor. I think that Vitali intimidates some past ATGs (some, not all) due not only due to his size, but also because of his foreign nature and his air of authority. He certainly won't be falling for Ali's trash talk, and he won't be scared of George Foreman, in fact he will look down at Foreman and smirk, which will be an entirely new and uncomfortable experience for George. :hat
No, there are at least 25 fighters ranking higher than him. Based on what? If you judge this you have to factor in opposition faced. Vitali lost to the only great fighter he faced and it was an old, overweight and undertrained one. This makes it hard to pick him above genuine atgs. Lewis won the 5th and 6th round so and was turning the fight around. Also the cuts came from punches. It was Lewis who stopped him, not some accident. Fact. True. Wlad is better at using his size though. And is more skilled. And has the better defence. And more power. He is not a nightmare for all atgs. Sorry but that´s BS. He will put up a fight against every one but Dempsey and Tyson though. He is not skillfull. He is crude. And he doesn´t always bring his A-game, see his last fight. Yep, him and Tyson are the best against B-level fighters. Means **** when it goes against atgs though, look at Tyson. And Billy Conn is a f*cking p4p atg. What are you talking about? Having him on your resume is not something to be ashamed of. Vitali was clearly shaken against Sanders. First round. Partly true but read above. They would look against whom his KO% comes against and would break in laugh. But of course stopping Sosonowski is as impressive as stopping Foreman. There maybe some truth in this.
I disagree. This version of Vitali we are seeing is using his size far better and has a better defence and increased punch output. Any older version is far more hittable, and against Louis that will be his downfall. Vitali has a rock of a chin but it is not undentable, especially when you are facing a puncher like Louis.
On the basis of what? This is getting ridiculous. He has not accomplished as much as Holmes, he has not dominated an era like Holmes, he does not have a resumé as good as Holmes, he isn't a more talented fighter than Holmes and head-to-head Holmes beats him. What possible basis can you have for putting him ahead of Larry?
