WAKO, the largest amateur kickboxing organization has been accepted as a provisional member at the IOC. The following three years will decide if kickboxing will be participating in the Olympic Games.

Since WAKO represent 7 different styles of kickboxing from forms over point fighting to K-1 rules it will be interesting to watch if all or just one of them will be picked when the time comes. The recognition for kickboxing comes 2 years after Muay Thai was accepted as a provisional sport and boxing is threatened to being booted off of the games.

Going to be hard to figure out what kind of style the Olympic games will select. I have a feeling it's going to more of the point fighting kind of style.
