    me too, doesn't mean they are quitters, just (by that point at least) they were professionals who weren't willing to sacrifice what was left of their earning potential.

    Thinking about it, the quote might have come from a contemporary Ring magazine ,I'll try and find it,I know it's attributed to him. I agree Marciano was a complete gentleman ,outside the ring.:lol:

    There's a good chance Walcott left everything in the ring in their previous fight. If that had been the case, with every will in the world to do better, the result would have played out just as it did.

    I agree.
    I also think the Walcott who bombed out Charles 2 years earlier with a little more in his tank, might have beaten Marciano.
