I think that's pretty harsh to say one loss would make Wlad's or any other dominant boxer a mediocre champion. Just look at his title defenses. He has beaten all of the top ranked guys and mandatory's. Like Lewis had with all of his opponents( the exception being a few big names Lewis had that weren't around for Wlad) Guys like Tua,Briggs,Rahman,Grant,Botha,Golata,Mavrovic,Akwinwande etc. are the same as Chambers,Chagaev,Ibragimov,Thompson,Brock,Peter.....They all had nice records an were top ranked, but when given a chance against the best they failed. With the exception of a few of those names who gained a piece of the title through far less superior champions.

Once you become champion it's harder to get the credit for wins since you are expected to win, and the guy you will be facing has most likely accomplished nothing extraordinary in his career besides getting the title shot.

Longevity and accumulation of title defenses should be highly regarded even in a weaker era. Such could be considered the case with the earlier defenses of BHOP or even Calzaghe and their title runs . I admit I'm more familiar with some of their later opponents then the earlier ones while champion . And don't know if those guys ever achieved anything later on.

Yeah, not only that, but Wlad will tie up, hold, and lean if the smaller guy does manage to get on the inside. Then the guy has to work to get past that range all over again.

Wlad is a hard man to hit solidly. Credit to him and Steward for finding a tactic that saves him from punishment, even though some people see it as boring and less ballsy.

Haye has a hell of a task in front of him. Wlad is also a good mover in there. It will be tough for Haye to get any real offense going in return in this fight. The bumrush strategy will not work.
