If only it was that simple. Most of these current day heavyweights are very choosy about who they fight and for how much, and I'm not pointing the finger at Wallin.
Whyte apparently agreed, hence the "flare." Which is a shame because it would've been a pretty decent fight. On one hand, you can kinda get it because his mandatory status was on the line, but on the other... what a ***** move. And we got the benefit of hindsight for this one, but I'm sure Fury-Wallin II would've been infinitely more interesting than Fury-Whyte ended up being. And that's coming from a guy that generally does not prefer rematches.
Wallin just welcomed Gassiev to the heavyweight division. Exactly what would happen to small and unskilled heavyweights from the past if they tried to go to to toe with the big guys of today.
The time for that fight already passed. Bum Shyte ducked Wallin because he jeopardized his Fury payday. Shyte is way at the back of the queue. a fight with fellow disgraced HW contender Miller might be a good place to start.
