The only thing I wonder about Bute is whether he's got another gear. He didn't really ever step it up at any point tonight. Just wore Magee down and found better quality shots. But he didn't fight with anymore intent.

 

Agreed. You wonder with him that if plan A isn't working, will he be able to adapt?

Hopefully that will shut up some of the pricks who were bad-mouthing Magee on other threads. OK he didnt win but some of these ****s were talking 2 and 3 round KOs, and i thought he did himself proud.

On a sidenote, maybe i missed something here but i watched it for another 5 mins after the fight was over and not once did i see Bute going over to Magee to commiserate like most guys would, classless *****

I know it's one of those awful boxing cliches, like 'styles make fights', but if ever boxing was about 'levels' it was shown last night. Poor Willie never stood a chance against Rigo, and it's just a shame he never lasted a bit longer. Top effort by Magee, I don't think he lost any credibility at all in there, he really took some beastly body shots and hopefully will take on the DeGale v Groves winner.

But I don't think Bute is all that. As others said he never really stepped it up, and I reckon Kessler, Ward and Froch would all have a very good chance against him.
