Better effort than than the Cornish Pastie by a mile.

The Jock came to fight and that punch in round 2 could have taken out a few fighters.

    Walsh too quick and experienced

Walsh was just too accurate tonight, he reminds me a bit of Gavin Ree's likes to jump in with hooks and can bully his opponents despite his small size. Traynor had a punch on him, but was too one dimensial. He should have stuck to his jab and taken his time more, but he was so focused on taking Walsh out, that he became open to that counter right hand. Once Walsh took the flush right in the second that's when Traynor should have realised it takes alot to knock out Walsh and taken his time more. Good fight and credit Walsh who is improving, and has become better with that defeat to Lee Selby.

Walsh being my local fighter needless to say I was delighted to see him defend his belt tonight. Would like to see him defend his belt 1 or 2 more times before moving onto European level & then that's as far as I think he could possibly go. Liam his twin brother on the other hand could make it to world level.

I just want to say that all of Walsh brothers an their team were absolute gents throughout the weigh in, fight and after the fight. Both myself and Darren wish them the best in the future and the best man won on the night!!

Darren needs to get back in the gym and look forward to working hard and building experience to try get hold of that Lonsdale belt.

Type of card Boxnation should have more of, especially on Friday nights up against no other boxing. FW needs to stop trying to compete with Hearn, whats the point in hiring out big arenas and only filling 30% of it. The Saunders-Lee crowd got bad press but it was the same for Mathews at the Echo and Buglioni at Wembley, whats the point!? Go back to basics and use the Olympia/York Hall etc more.

Yes Boxnation - the Home of domestic Leisure Centre Boxing.

One problem - how does the Pork Hall bouts attract badly needed new UK subscribers to move towards a break even business?

    1. Its the same bouts with presumably less of an outlay on venue hire. Plus instead of stacking british level fights on a card as he has been doing he could have 2,3 or 4 small hall shows out of them, providing more content for the channel. There was nothing wrong with the show last night, as a boxing channel it needs more of them.

    2. The channel has zero cross over appeal apart from the very occasional fight (which they thought Lee - Saunders was and it clearly wasn't). Its a channel for boxing fans, fans that attend small hall shows like many on here. Show more of them (the production doesn't have to be great) and you're more likely to maximise that (admittedly limited) base.

Traynor wasn't prepared but put in a good effort. Really needs to kick on now, as pointed out by Lillis he had only one fighter with a winning record on his CV previous to this.

I totally agree, I wanted him to have a few more fights against the guys just under before we stepped up but sometimes things come along and it is Darren's dream to win the British and in life you never know if you will get the chance again.

He will be back out in Aberdeen on 25th March with a wee comeback fight then I'd like to get him back in with the guys just under Ryan Walsh and get back working on improving and building experience whilst trying to get another chance at the British.
