Guyz who wins ? im a huge fan of Wanderlei, huge huge fan but i really dont know if he can win this, Stann a huge 185lbs fighter and with a great camp in Albuquerque i think he has a chance of outstriking Wanderlei and possibily tko him in 2nd round. But if Wanderlei connects it can be the exact same thing. Wanderlei is not the same fighter he was in pride and he not got the best chin.
Wanderlei is nowhere near his best, bit Stann o's decent rather than quality. There's a chance he could get the better of the exchanges but I expect Wand to go prehistoric on him and stop him. He ain't got much left though, I would not be too surprised of Stann caught him and stopped him, he has power in those fists and Wanderlei isn't the same fighter from Pride, coming off a length lay-off, surgery etc etc.
Wandy's style means you dont age well as a fighter, but Id make him slight favourite against Stann at this point. Maybe for nostalgic reasons, but he's still got power and there's signs his a little bit more cautious since the Rampage ko. But if he cant win this one maybe he should hang them up
Greg Jackson makes the difference with someone like Stann. Typical brawler tough guy but against Leben he used angles, stepped off and back, went to the body and it all worked.
Although Wanderlai doesn't have the same speed he had in his Pride days, his ferocity is enough to overwhelm most of these new guys. Stann might be in over his head - however Stann won't panic against Wanderlai. He showed in his fight with Leben he has the sharpness and desire to stand inside and trade with a tough brawler. He could put Wanerlai down and out. I hope Wanderlai doesn't lose. I would love to see him regain his old form and rise up to challenge Anderson Silva. That would be epic. If he does lose - there's always a fight with Leben in the cards. Would be a good bounce back fight for both!
Tough fight to call simply because it's hard to tell where Wand's ability level and health are these days. It should be very exciting no matter what. I think the difference could be how much better Stann's body has taken to the cut to 185 than Wand's has at his age.
Currently Stann takes it by possible TKO or if he takes it easy a dec. Old wandy would win by Tko against current Stann in rd 2
Wanderlei is a brawler out of choice but not out of skill set. This is what should set him apart from Leben. Lebens biggest flaw is his robotic style but more so his head is straight up in the air. Wanderlei while brawling has cuter moves than that so this could see him through. I hope Silva wins. I like Stann but I don't want a Stann level MMA fighter to beat a legend like Wand.
Stann'll stop him. I can just tell I'm gonna look at that guy and feel sad everytime I think of him destroying Leben and Silva.
I think Wanderlei still has enough left to be the favourite in this fight. I'd take him by late KO or TKO.
