I used to ****ing loathe Schaub... Between his KO'ing Cro Cop and acting all smug about it, and just his personality in general. But definitely warmed up to him over the last couple of years - respected how he stood his ground and told the UFC to go **** themselves after the Reebok deal, respect how he's branded himself podcasting, and I genuinely think the KO's humbled him a bit. That said the comments earlier was a strong glimpse into the Schaub of old, that's the dude the majority of MMA fans used to despise with a passion.

Jiu Jitsu is the entire reason MMA is a sport.

He seems to have mellowed out a bit in retirement but for me he was THE most unlikeable fighter in the UFC when he was active. It was always a joy to see him get laid out flat.

I actually had no idea who the **** Schaub was before Joe Rogan and fighter and the kid lol. I enjoy his podcast though. Maybe that's why I'm more accepting to him, he never came off as smug to me. Callen annoys me far more, the guy sometimes tries to act like an expert around people who actually know their **** lol.

It's boring af to watch. There's a reason why McGregor is so popular. Because he doesn't hump dudes on the ground.

Never watched him in the UFC, that's probably why I don't harbor any resentment for him. Seems like a chill dude.

I get if you love jiu-jitsu if you personally do it yourself. You probably can understand wtf is going on, and appreciate the skill. If you don't do jiu-jitsu how are you supposed to enjoy it? I enjoy watching people get punched and kicked in the face.

As the sport has evolved there are less and less of those one dimensional JJ fighters and lay n prayers having success. Demian Maia is the probably one of the last of a dying breed.

I just don't understand how anyone who doesn't practice brazillian jiu jitsu enjoys this. Like I can even understand if you do it at the lowest level since you can probably appreciate the skill more since you have experience.
