Oh, well I see them heading down different paths. Hopefully they will cross, but I'm not interested in Wanderlei fighting Sonnen, who will probably be coming off a beating next month. I'd rather see a rubber match with Hendo to be honest, and I believe it would be a bigger event than a fight with Sonnen. A better scrap and matchup for him too. If not Hendo he can make decent money fighting Rashad Evans.... A fight against Ryan Bader would be high risk, low reward.
Barring severe injuries and suspensions, that means Sonnen will be available before Belfort. If Jones ko's Sonnen, Sonnen will have a 30 day suspension. If Belfort is not ko'd by Rockhold, they would both be ready at the same time. I'm down with a Brazil vs Sonnen tour. Sonnen has lost to every Brazilian he's ever faced, let's see if he can improve upon his record.
Hendo knocks him out again. Rashad is an interesting fight, but probably less money than Sonnen. Sonnen is definitely more money than Bader.

I'm almost certain Rashad is making more money than Sonnen (per fight), and Hendo is on the slide. Very interesting at this point. I just don't think Wanderlei v Sonnen will materialize for the reasons I've stated, but it will happen if both men want it to. Besides a confrontation in a Van, there is nothing behind this. There is just more substance in Hendo v Silva III, and we won't have to be waiting for a particular fighter to get medical clearance either. Dan Henderson said that we wants to stay active anyways. Even if Belfort were available, a rubber match is what I want the most. Wandy v Sonnen is for the birds. But, for histories sake, let their be a rubber match. I gotta know while these two men are active. I've read last week that Hendo could be fighting Rashad Evans next and I hope not as it has potential to be boring.
A rubber match with Hendo isn't worth as much as it once was. Silva's chin is now questionable. Wanderlei is lacking in his once great recuperative powers. Why does the Belfort fight mean anything? Again, this is another fight that would have made sense years ago. Sonnen and Wanderlei is actually an intriguing style match-up that is relative today. They are both at the stage of their careers where you decide to move forward, or move on.
If Sonnen stays at LHW, I'd rather see him fight Rashad/Shogun/Machida. Belfort should just keep ****ing up the Middleweight Division. Wandy? He should rematch Leben, at LHW.
Wandy v Cung Le rematch would be interesting especially with Le coming off am impressive KO Franklin.
Maybe he isn't. It's been nearly 10 years since I've heard people talking about how good he was on the ground. He does only have 3 wins by submission, and 2 of those were due to punches. However, he has never lost by submission. Are the people saying he isn't anything special referring to pure submission grappling, or are they saying his grappling is sub par for mma? What is the context these comments are coming from?
