Start by getting to the gym. Learn on the job.
No amount of advice you get on the internet will compare to the experience you gain from actually being in the gym.

I know many people are intimidated to walk into a gym knowing nothing, and thinking you need to have some basis of knowledge or athleticism. But honestly, the coach(es) and fellow fighters will be your best sources of that. Don't go it alone, the best start is an educated one. Just walk in with a humble, honest attitude, and people will appreciate that, wayyyyy more than some chump with a punching bag at home who walks in acting like he knows ****. Those guys, we WILL take liberties with and put em through the rails to humble them a little. I know, it sounds rough, but it happens. Just don't act hot, ask questions and you'll be surprised how willing people are to help.

Most gyms and coaches will start you off gradually, working on cardio and basics (techniques, form) so don't think they're gonna throw you in with some assholes that are gonna try and kill you.
