I'm in the market for new gloves and have been looking at the Grant and Reyes pro training gloves. Well I've been using my T*U heatseekers on the bag and have worn down the padding a bit. I am with a new trainer and we do ALOT of padwork, sparring drills, and not much on the heavy bag. So 1st question is, will training gloves hold up on casual bag work? Now my next concern is about hand protection, I've heard countless stories about people hurting their hands with Reyes but I still see people rate them better than Grants, so what's the deal on this? I weigh 125 pds (walking around weight) and have small hands, the heatseekers have a small compartment and fit me nicely. How would Reyes and Grants fit? How many ounces should I use? (My Heatseekers are 16) I found a site called boxingdepot.com that sells both of these gloves at discounted prices, is there any difference between the gloves from there and grant.com?
i have rival rsv1 they are the best glove i have ever used they are a really sung fit and u cant feel a thing through them
if you are talking bag gloves, the Grant super bag gloves feel like magic on my hands. Soooo soft and squishy. Hitting the bag never hurts any more (with cheaper gloves my elbows start to hurt).
Never used, either. But, I just switched up from Everlast to Ringside Super Bag Gloves. No more sore hands. Mine are extra large size, and are a little too roomy. Dunno if that helps or not. Sounds like you are looking for something a little nicer.
The reason I decided I should go for the Upper level gloves is because I've been going threw my gloves pretty fast (Tuf-Wear bag gloves) I've indented the padding already. My heatseekers are still holding up but won't last long
Really? I have heatseekers and the padding works great for me, I use them for sparring, padwork, and bagwork, and they aren't worn at all after using them for about a year.
The reason my Heatseekers are starting to wear out is because the bag at the gym is like 200 pds and is hard as ****.
I've been using my Ringside gloves for about six months or so, on the 100lb heavy bag, no issues. I throw pretty hard and am a big guy (270lbs). No issues so far. The Everlast gloves though, definiately only good for a couple easy rounds on the bag. Anything more and my hands would be sore. Are you using good wraps?
