    Hi,

I wanna start to do some sparring but i have glasses. Without my glasses, I really don't see anything. If i put some contact lens, can i do some sparring or i should forget it?

    Tank you!

I have the same problem. I just take them off and do alot of squinting. It sometimes scares the other guy. Apparently I look like I'm really pissed off when I do that.

I can usually see the straight punches. But can't see hooks or uppercuts since I have no peripheral vision. It really effin sux.

i wear contacts for my short sight. they only cost £10 a month and you don't even notice they are there. i remember reading something a few months ago about one of the klitschkos in sparring knocking one of the other guy's lenses out- so if it becomes newsworthy then it obviously isn't a common occurrence :thumbsup

Do you use some sort of sport's contacts or something? I always bring a spare pair with me when I go to box just in case. I've only been going a couple of months and when we're doing pad drills for example, the person holding the pads sometimes hits me with them lightly to sort of say 'Wake up I could've got you there' and if I get caught in the eye it either hurts like a ***** because it's moved the contact or it comes out fully. I've also hit one out with a skipping rope before which was a bit embarrassing :yep

    i wear contacts when sparring

sometimes they fall out sometimes they don't, thats life.

  10. I wear contacts, they are very affordable. Im also considering lasre eye surgery but thats for another day.

I havent had problems with them falling out or anything but I've been told in a match up, if the ref finds out a contact lense fell out, he will stop the bout and your opponant will take the win.

Im short sighted it never used to be that bad but its getting progressively worse. I think im ok for now i can see two big red pairs of gloves coming at my face so im good. I was considering maybe looking into the laser eye surgery too, theres gotta be draw backs though to it surley. When you think about it money wise its pretty good when you consider how much glasses cost !!!!

    What is your short sightedness?

I am about 2 in the left and 0.5 in the right.

I wear glasses as well. I think glasses take away prerefreal vision in genral. So I don't see to the side very well. When I play any sport I take my glasses off. I don't wear contacts I have an astigstim so contacts don't fit allthough the new soft ones might. Despite the fact i can't see (I can see a ball or a fist coming at me.) When I take my glasses off I fell that I am slightly more relaxed and a little bit more confident. I am defently more relaxed.

I wear contacts, have since i was about 16 and sparred in them. Sometimes if you get hit in the eye it might fall out, but it doesn't really matter. Just carry on.

if you're worried about lenses coming out, just keep last months as spares

...i realize that isn't useful if you're in a fight, i imagine its difficult to put a contact in wearing boxing gloves while someone is hitting you :yep
