    Hello,

Just joined the forum and was after some advice.

I'm a 29 year old male (30 in a few months) 6ft 1in weigh 15 stone very fit, strong and wanting to start boxing.

I've played rugby for years and have always wanted to box and now can finally put the time in to do it properly.

My question is have I left it too late to have a decent amateur shot?

    Cheers Lads

The best time to plant seeds was last year, the next best time is now.

Seriously, if you want to do it, and you love it, just do it. The only limitations you have are the ones you set for yourself, you want to compete? Then train hard and go compete.

I did the same mate in my early 20's i boxed and played rugby but then went to play rugby for Nottingham so had to make the choice .... then started back up at 31 and boxed through to 38 ... loved it and have some great memories and made some great friends in the gym and those involved in the game ... wouldnt change anything so lace ur gloves up and round 1 ....

So you can't fight past 35 as an amateur?
