hard to rate that fight. Holyfield looked flat and that other guy Sherman Williams had those wide punches which occassionally hit Evander. Evander looked flat is all I can say. He didn't look bad just slow and inactive.

thats what I am saying to these ****ing people who bring this **** up take note people have been bringing this fight up all I saw was a right hand that caught evander off balance in the third and then just before the round ended a clean looping slapping right hand landed...

This does not mean nothing you better pull out that James Toney fight (if he wasnt juiced) better off pulling out the larry donald fight.
But still Evander hasnt looked worse than any contendor in the top ten when fighting Valuev, Ibragimov etc...

Holyfield-Povetkin is not a horrendous matchup.
Should he win Holy would be in a position to get one last big payday facing off against Hopkins in a battle of the two oldest boxing champs in history.

Holyfield already got his "vicious beating" from James L.O. Toney our of Ann Arbor, Michigan. But he keeps coming back. I stopped feeling sorry for him years ago. But I'll admit, he surprised me against Valuev, so who knows what might happen. I think Povetkin is an easier style for him than Ibragimov was.

I make the statement Holyfield is totally shot-to-****, because he looks like stinking dog**** against a low-level morbidly obese journeyman.

It wasn't me who said that "off balance" post, but i do know Holyfield is absolutely beyond-shot.

Holyfield has been a shot fighter for the last 11 years ffs, his "last hurrah" was being competitive in the '99 Lewis rematch... after that Holyfield has been shot in every fight. Are you ******ed enough to argue Holyfield isn't shot, even now? :nut

Evander can't beat anyone in the top 10, no. Evander still fighting shows nothing about the division, because he is not relevant, it just shows he doesn't know what to retire. I guess you also thought the division was steaming pile of sh*t when grandpa Foreman actually won THE HW championship in the 90s, something Holyfield isn't even close to doing, right?

Old Foreman would absolutely batter Zombie Holyfield.

I know, bit it doesn't change the fact that a grandpa Foreman won the lineal HW championship in the "strong era" of the 90s, while this guy is trying to use that Holyfield is still fighting (when he isn't relevant in the division) like proof of how bad the division is.

Well Moorer in '94 fought a lethargic Holyfield who had collapsed left ventricle of the heart & a torn rotator cuff of his left shoulder... & i still think Holyfield deserved the close decision! The Old Foreman brutally KO'd Moorer in impressive fashion yes, but he lost all credibility to his championship when he ducked Tucker to fight Schulz instead & got his IBF title (the only respectable one he held) stripped. Most people considered Holyfield "the man" again when he had his monumental upset of Tyson in '96. Anyway i agree with your point about Zombie Holyfield still fighting being irrelevant to the current division, because no decent org will rank him for beating washed-up old journeymen Nielsen & Botha. Hell, Zombie Ali was still fighting as the Champion in the late 70s when shot! Although i think he didn't deserve his decisions against Young, Norton III or Shavers.

I did not think the division was good in the 1990s no, but much much better than now. I was never that impressed with George's comeback, but I did think he had legit power if he could land it. Actually Foreman came back because he thought stylistically he had a chance to beat Tyson, and the Tyson fight never happened. But they matched him with Holyfield, Morrison and Moorer for title fights. 3 fights and with his power he was bound to win one of those fights, and Moorer had a weak chin and was not a strong champion. I was never very impressed with the heavyweights as a division, but guys like Tyson and Holmes and Holyfield and Lewis were the cream of the crop. Fighters which kept the division legit when otherwise we would have guys like Leon Spinks and Rahman and Tubbs as champions.

Yeah, it was so much better, that's why 45 year olds and LHWs were passing the lineal championship around. Evander Holyfield is irrelevant in today's division, so why are you pretending otherwise?
