I agree he is well past his prime, nobody disagrees with that, I also agree he should retire nobody disagrees there, but to say he just doesnt have it anymore, okay maybe not what he once was, But IMO he did much better against Valuev than did Haye....
he did lose to Ibragimov but was hardly dominated alot of very close rounds in that fight I had Ibragimov 115-113.

pretending? Wasn't I responding to another question about the 90s and now as far as heavyweights? Yeah the 1990's was not a good era, but it was stellar compared to now..

Yes, you were pretending that Holyfield is still relevant to fulfill your agenda. No they weren't better, as proved by what happened. Until Lennox arrived and put some order, the division was terrible.

1990s was a good era imo.
It had four heavies with ATG ability, Lewis, Tyson, Holy, Bowe. Had Tyson not self destructed and Bowe not pussied out of the Lewis fight it could've been great.

Holyfield is a 50 year old man that should have retired almost a decade ago.

Is this what it has come down to?

A heavyweight division so bad that we cling to legends legends like Holyfield and hold them up as top contenders. The Valuev robbery means nothing.

The division is not bad and noone really believes Holy is a contender.

Valuev was a shitty fraud though, who was generously helped many times by corrupt WBA judges. The big lummox needed gift decisions to beat Donald & Ruiz in '05, & Ancient Fossil Holyfield in '08. Besides being crapola in his prime, Valuev was clearly past-prime when Zombie Holyfield & Haye got to him, because of his giant-ism condition. Doing better than Haye doesn't mean Holyfield wasn't shot-to-****, it's just down to styles. Are you trying to say that being competitive with Ibragimov somehow means Holyfield wasn't a shot fighter? The last non-shot Old Holyfield managed to go 113-115 against a Prime Lennox Lewis in their rematch, so it's a far step down in ability to lose by that same 113-115 margin to Ibragimov, who was ****ing far from great in any way!

Not to mention he didn't lose 115-113 to Ibragimov, the scores were wider than that. It wasn't a close fight at all, Holyfield just won some rounds in the end when Ibragimov already had it in the bag and was just content to cruise the rest of the fight.

Holys got nothng to lose. So why not

His nearly 50, hes done it all, beat them all

hes most likely guaranteed brain damage as he is already showing signs if slurring his speech.

Honestly...what has he got to lose?
