Contest between tough come forward sluggers who had some success beating good fighters and winning wars but never became the clear #1 guy at heavyweight. 12 rounds to make it fair, smallest ring possible with tight ropes and a lenient ref.

    Tony Galento vs Bert Cooper

    Chris Arreola vs Oscar Bonavena

    Samuel Peter vs Mike Weaver

    Dillian Whyte vs Shannon Briggs

Double elimination, meaning if a fighter wins all his matches, he has to face the winner of the losers bracket in the grand finals. They are of course allowed 3-4 months to recover between fights.

I'm far from Galento fan, but I think he'd beat Cooper to be honest.

Peter over Weaver? Heard it all now. Peter was around when nobody was, Weaver was around when everybody was.

I don't think that you can look at the start line of an elimination tournament, and predict who is going to win.

The best man could get the wrong draw in the first round.

The winner of an elimination tournament, is not necessarily the best fighter in that tournament, but they probably deserved to win it.
