Tim Sylvia def. Paul Buentello via KO - Round 2, 4:57 Terry Martin def. Jorge Ortiz via split decision Tony Lopez def. Jason Lambert via KO - Round 2, 1:49 Matt Horwich def. Thales Leites via submission (RNC) - Round 4, 0:44 Erin Beach def. Joao Silva via unanimous decision Diego Garijo def. Jens Pulver via submission (guillotine choke) - Round 1, 1:08 Gustavo "Ximu" Machado def. Rick Reeves via split decision Sylvia and Buentello both looked like ****. I hate Sylvia. I hope Rizzo chops his legs in half. Glad to see Tony Lopez win. He almost always looks bad in his fights, and he almost always wins. It's weird. Pulver REALLY needs to retire immediately. This is his sixth loss in a row. I can't believe Leites got subbed. I haven't seen the fight, but by all reports I have seen, he was winning the whole fight. He probably would have been invited back to the UFC had he won tonight.
Sylvia has done well to get himself back in the picture. I hate that he is always so fat but another win over Rizzo would look good and should get him a call up to SF. Pulver needs to stop now. He has lost 8 or his last 9 fights.
Thales Leites getting subbed is the big news here. The man was 17-3 with no stoppage losses and would have been back in the big leagues soon. You wouldn't expect him to be upset by a journeyman like Matt Horwich (24-15-1 prior to the fight), much less submitted by him. I don't see the UFC rushing to sign him back.
I always liked Horowitz, good win for him. As for Leites he just got outworked by a stronger wrestler. Horowitz is like a gorilla. Leites shouldn't have been cut from the UFC anyways. Its the UFC's loss, he'll be back in top form soon enough.
