    Over at the scene

    "what's the rush" :bolt

After being asked why Kovalev-Ward can't occur now, Ward replies "that's easy to say for people who aren't getting hit" :bolt

He says great fights need to be built

So GGG haters, why can GGG not wait until after he's become a bigger star by adding the scalp of the Cotto-Canelo winner, and unifying the middleweight division before fighting Ward, when Ward isn't willing to fight Kovalev now.

    Let's hear it hypocrites...

What normal people on this forum knew already...a person who says 'what's the rush' does not want to fight, period.

Would you say Ward stop commenting on HBO to avoid quacking live on air while Kovalev or GGG was fighting. :think:think

Ward has signed a contract to fight Kovalev as part of a three fight deal.

He's right when he says that fight needs to be built in that the contract he signed was to fight Kovalev last, not first. What's wrong with you people??

Well I never expected it to happen anyway so it does nothing for me, I just want the Stevenson fight THEY need to fight.

The contract demands the Kovalev fight happen in fall 2016? Because I would bet my life that isn't going to happen by then. There is no way Ward fights three times in 2016, especially if one of those fights is Kovalev.

I think early 2017, I say he fights in February and then again in September. His fight before Kovalev will not be a tuneup.

I wanted to give Ward the benefit of the doubt prior to reading the article as he is right in the fact this fight needs to be built up first as neither are big draws, but my god everything that comes out of his mouth seems designed to alienate the fans.

He says "if and when" he fights Kovalev as if it's no big deal if the fight happens or not. He should be beating the drum to build the fight as he himself has said, which is why he is in no rush but them comes off ambivalent, when talking about a proposed fight.

He then says his injury isn't an injury, then what the hell is it? Inflammation is the symptom of the injury to his knee. The way he talks the things he says, the guy is a public relations train wreck. People can now say he ducked Brand because he himself said he wasn't injured, which of course is a twisting of the facts but he is literally giving ammunition to his critics, due to ability to put his foot in his mouth at every opportunity. If he really wants to build this fight he needs to just stop talking, he doesn't know how to build a fight at all as proven when he refused to watch the Froch/Groves rematch when inactive. Every time he does an interview he is probably losing fans, something he can ill afford to lose.

Maybe Kova might end up being his second fight of the contract, that way Ward holds up his deal.who knows.

Now that I agree with. If Ward had fought on the 28th, then he would've had a fight in May or June next year, and Kovalev probably in November.

lolz at desperate Ward fanboys. If the fight was guaranteed to happen, who would he say 'if and when'

Ward also had a signed contract with Dan Goossen. What happened there.:lol::lol:

The fight will happen you haters. You actually think HBO would sign Ward to a contract if the Kovalev fight wasn't one of those fights? The fight will happen 2016 isn't even here yet.
