for not taking Stevenson off of our hands before tonight. They would have exposed him at 168 with the quickness. Adonis did the smart thing for his career though. He'd have no career after Kovalev demolished him. At least after being embarrassed by Bernard, he can get a big money fight with Pascal in Quebec.
Steveson would knock Ward and Hopkins out if the fights happen. Froch however, has the chin to stand up to Stevenson, and the power to put him out. Ward doesn't have the chin or power. Hopkins doesn't have the power, but he does have the chin. but at his age, i don't see him taking the kind of punishment that Fonfara took Tonight.
Its the other way around. Both Hop and Ward have the defensive skills required to avoid getting Knocked out by Stevenson. Froch on the other hand will Get his chin shattered into pieces with that mediocre defence of his. There is a reason why Froch did not honor his mandatory against Stevenson.
SOB Ward refused to fight Stevenson. Stevenson called Ward out live on HBO, but Ward refused to even answer him. Stevenson said he would even fight Ward at 168, but again, Ward ran away crying like a baby.................Froch would make war with Stevenson, Kovalev knocks them both out, including the crooked cheat Ward. Ward will only fight in his home town with his personal referee, judges, boxing commission, etc., but even with such an advantage Ward will not fight Kovalev or Stevenson.............Ward is overrated...........
I thought Stevenson had a good shot at beating Ward back when he called him out on HBO. Right now, I'd probably pick Ward by messy start and stop smother your own work UD. Never thought Stevenson was busy enough to give Hopkins any real problems. That fight probably ends up looking a lot like the Cloud and Shumenov fights. The only thing that might work for Stevenson in those fights is that his punches are coming from the southpaw stance. Stevenson might be able to walk Froch onto a big shot but Froch's chin is gonna Froch. Putting him on the floor is one thing, keeping him there is another.
the fight didn't happen between Froch/Stevenson because Froch and his side were already deep in negotiations with Kessler for the rematch with it nearly signed and sealed. everybody wanted that fight. they weren't going to waste months of negotiations to take on someone nobody had heard of. Ward has been badly wobbled and dropped by stiffs who can't punch. Hopkins has been dropped more times than that fighter with the" mediocre defence" Froch has a proven chin of iron against the biggest punchers, so Stevenson isn't going to bring anything out of the ordinary. Steveson's shaky chin will be what gets smashed to pieces. how is the negotiations for the fight between Stevenson and Ward going by the way?? Stevenson called Ward out over a year ago for a fight at SMW?? is he too scared??? don't forget to waive that flag, yeah.
Froch didn't really avoid Stevenson he decided to fight the higher rated Kessler to avenge his loss and it was a massive money fight. :huh
