Ward and GGG do not need each other. Saying so would be akin to saying that Makabu has to move up to fight Wlad to assert his excellence. It would be like saying Roman Gonzalez has to move up to fight Lomachenko. Ward doesn't even have to move up to fight Kovalev. Ward has fights at 168 if he wants them. I just am not sure if he wants them. There's the Dirrell brothers, Badou Jack, Zurdo Ramirez, Degale, Groves. That's a lot to deal with yet I never hear Ward ever talking about any of those guys. To be perfectly honest, I am sick and fuqing tired of these talking points for both Ward and GGG. GGG can fight: Lemieux, Quillin, N'Dam, Eubank, Lee, Cotto-Canelo winner, Jacobs, Tony Harrison or the Charlo brothers or Derevyanchenko in the next couple of years. Neither guy needs the other and there are plenty of fights for both at their respective weight class.
