Ward and Kovalev ATM should be at a 171-172 catchweight if it happens now.

If there was any good time for a catchweight fight, this would be one of them.

It would be fair for both parties. Don't give me that, "IT WOULDN'T BE FAIR TO KOVALEV garbage" :|

1 party can go up 3-4 pounds and the other can go down 3-4 pounds.

Ward clearly can't make 175 healthily nor should he have to, he's a 168 pounder, not a 175 pounder.

This would be a very fair fight. People are clamouring for this despite the fact that Ward has never fought at 75 b4.

Ward CAN make 171-172 shown in his last 2 fights although this is not ideal. He was 173.4 2 and a half weeks b4 his last fight. Virgil and him claimed that 168 is still easily doable.

Ward is a true 168 pounder. He shouldn't even have to move up. I want to see Ward fight at his most ideal weight.

    Garbage, pure garbage.

No way Kovalev should drain himself for anyone let alone Ward. If you want to be the champ at 175, then fight at 175. Period.

    Ward is a 168 pounder, he can't make 175.

People want this fight, therefore, someone has to give.

A 171-172 catchweight would be really good for both parties. Kovalev can make 172 I reckon fairly easily.

    Ward can as well.

Ward is a true 168 pounder, that's what people don't understand.

No, catch weights are bad for boxing. I'd rather Ward stay at 168 than indulge in such skullduggery.

Kovalev said 175 or no fight anyway.

No it isn't, it's happened in some of the biggest fights the sport has to offer.

Whitaker/Chavez was at a 145 catchweight and Whitaker schooled him.

Weight didn't have much to do with it. This might be another one of those situations.

Don't think weight will have much to do with it.

Neither is really obliged to fight one another, Kovalev said if Ward ever comes to 175 he's there waiting for him but other than that he doesn't mention or call out Ward at all.

Kovalev can make 172 fairly easy cause you reckon? If it doesnt damage him, then whats even the point.

As for Ward being a "true 168lb" then fine. Noone is forcing him to move up. But if he wants that Kovalev fight, and wants to be the LHW champ, then fight at 175.

And it's not like Kovalev needs Ward anyhow, he's the man at heavyweight.

And Ward is the man at 168.

They shouldn't have to fight one another.

But people are clamouring for it RIGHT NOW, when Ward can't even make 175 without being bloated up unhealthily. :huh

If you're so sure of this, why do you wanna see it then? Since it's so uncompetitive like you keep making it out to be.

    Klitschko would also KO Lebedev!!

Let's go see that too!!

Why do you think Ward can't make 175 healthy? I'm not even understanding what you mean. He looked very good and lean at the Smith weigh in.
If he looked so good and performed well coming in at 172 why would it be a big deal if he came in at 174 or 175 vs Kovalev?
