Ward and Kovalev ATM should be at a 171-172 catchweight if it happens now.

Did you see the weigh in? Ward looked very lean and athletic.

This is just dumb, he was 173.4 2 and a half weeks b4 and could have easily made 168.

There's a reason he's going back to 68 after this fight (Virgil claimed).

He will be very bloated up at 175. Ain't no one wants to see that ****.

Kovalev usually weighs 174-174.5 during weigh ins. I'm sure he could make 172 too

Did Ward look BLOATED to you at the weigh in vs Smith? Yes or no will suffice...

Don't make me post the pics.

He didn't like as fit as he would have at 168. He didn't look that muscled up to me.

At 168, he looked well muscled up. At 172, he looks muscled up but not ideal.

BTW if Ward would be so unhealthy at 175 why did he fight there in the amateurs?

He wouldn't even need to put on weight, he already rehydrates to 181, all he'd have to do is dehydrate less.

Why'd he fight at 160 in the beginning of his pro career? :think

It's because 168 is his true weight, 175 wasn't ideal.

Ward can't put on 7 lbs and be healthy? Do those 7 lbs make him obese? I understand those guys might be a little big for him but his last two opponents were basically light heavies and he beat them with ease. I think he'd be fine at 175. MVC, please drop the fanboy nonsense of defending everything they do. I like Ward, he's one of my favorites, but he should move up.

Ward has the skills and the frame to fight at the full LHW limit. If Ward and Kovalev fought, a CW would not be neccesary.

Why should he move up? 168 is a division he still has business in. There's still work there left undone.

All I'm suggesting is that he should WAIT until he can't make that division anymore. Clearly he can. He was 173.4 2 and a half weeks b4 the weigh in for his last bout. He stated that 168 was EASY. :nut

    Maybe 3-4 more years?

    Exactly

He CAN, doesn't mean it's ideal. Genius.

Lebedev CAN fight Klitschko, it's just not ideal.
