He fought Dawson at the Oracle arena, only 7611 people showed up to what is about a 20K arena. I assume they will reduce the seating or there is a smaller side arena within the main arena otherwise there will be a lot of empty seats.

Very true. Of the 7611 that showed up to watch him 1308 were given free tickets to fill the arena a bit more. They were literally giving tickets away and could not sell out.

I bet if you hang outside the arena on fight night you could very well pick up some free tickets.

Zurdo or Mundo (Callum Smith) would be good fights but ain't gonna happen in Wards comeback fight.. Paul Smith? I suppose it kinda makes sense from Wards point of view since Paul's recently been in title contention against AA, but I'm guessing that if Paul went to Oakland his only motivation would be the $/£s - guy kinda seemed like he was treating AA as his last real shot.

there may be some sense to the ward vs smith fight, as if ward wins and looks vaguely good, his stock amongst casuals in UK will rise, which makes a froch fight more sellable as a PPV package. Its also a fairly easy win, and i doubt paul smith would want too much money for it.

So ... did Ward duck Froch, or were they both simply to slow to reach an agreement :huh

**** knows what happened, but I expect each side to blame the other.

Personally I don't think either went into negotiations with any real intent to make the fight. Froch has made it quite clear that Chavez Jr is the fight he wants while Ward has been trying to arrange fights with other opponents throughout the negotiations.

Time to move on. Froch is basically retired and will only fight if the Chavez fight happens and Ward needs to rebuild. Will be very interesting to find out who he is fighting.

At the end of the day, Ward is not stupid even if he seems to carry a remarkable ego. If he wants his career back on track, it's not beyond question that he manages to dig up someone decent.

Froch wants a money grab, or a farewell fight in front of his hometown fans. I can respect that. He didn't seem to be in a rush to get it on with Ward, since he probably realises the unavoidable outcome.

Fights not on HBO, possibly BET. Paul Smith and Marco Antonio Periban are 2 of the names being mentioned.
