Honestly, those numbers aren't too bad given the quality of the match-up- or lack thereof.

 

GGG-Wade did more than Brand-Ward and Chilemba-Kovalev combined.

Don't waste your time. This guy is not very bright so he will resort to personal attacks.

 

This was on regular HBO. Those numbers are very weak actually.

 

It was Boxing After Dark caliber numbers.

I'm growing increasingly pessimistic that this fight's coming off. I figured I'd try and be optimistic about it since it was signed (or so I thought), but boxing has a way of kicking optimistic fans in the testicles.

It was a single fight on HBO, without a compelling undercard to bolster it. And the fight itself wasn't a competitive match-up, and featured a guy who isn't known as a huge puncher. Expecting a fight like this to do much more than 750k would have been a fool's errand.

 

It's coming off because there aren't any other options for either Kovalev or Ward. It's not a fight that will do amazing PPV numbers, but it's the best fight out there for either guy right now.
