Ward - Brand seems to be on

    It wil culminate with Ward suing everybody or disclosing some illness/injury and retiring. No way this Brand-Smith conquerer gets into the ring with Kova.

    I never said fleeing from Golovkin, so cool your nutsack.

    What I'm saying is, that Ward looks like an idiot for all this talk about Golovkin (who is highly regarded by many boxing people) then "going to 175" only to "call out" 3 super middles to fight him (that are complete fricking no-names and no hopers) How do ANY of those 3 he was looking to fight AT ALL, IN ANY WAY prepare him to fight Kovalev? He already had a garbage tune-up...why does the "P4P # 1 or 2" fighter need multiple tune ups?

    Makes perfect sense to me.

    He had a fight after a long layoff at 172, the first time he's weighed that much since prior to the Super 6.

    Now he's apparently planning to have a fight at 175 against an opponent his size who's also moving up.

    And logically from there, I would assume the plan is to face a legit 175'er in his final prep before a would-be showdown with Kovalev, and if everything goes according to HBO's plan, it would probably then be a battle of undefeated titans, both at or very near prime, who are battling for the highly coveted title of universally recognized P4P King.

    Will everything play out according to plan?

    Who knows? Maybe it will, and maybe it won't.

    But if this is the collision course both Ward and Kovalev are inevitably headed towards, then I have nothing but admiration and praise for both fighters.

    But maybe that's just me.

    I get what you're saying (frig dude... you smoke a lot. :smoke ) and if he ends up actually fighting Kov, then awesome, and I will absolutely watch. But to go from a guy like Murdock (had he been approved) to Kovalev is fairly idiotic and, considering he is considered the P4P best it's a joke that he really hasn't fought anyone even close to Froch caliber in a couple years. He even said (out of his own mouth) that the promotional beef was not preventing him from fighting...HE said it was because no one wanted to fight him.

    Also... it's supposed to be a CO- MAIN EVENT... come on man? Seriously??????

    So Ward could've weighed in at 175 lbs against Smith and not have been penalized? In a LHW fight, he most certainly could have.

    Krusher couldn't KO a 50 year old man who was a MW most of his career. So, I guess that would kind of make them even.

    It was not officially a LHW fight dude. If it was, he wouldn't be making his DEBUT at LHW next month. [emoji57]

    No misdirection...it was relevant to bring Kovalev into it . You are the idiot to not recognize that. [emoji41]

    They could probably weigh in less than that too. Didn't Pac weigh in at 144 1/2 in a fight contracted at 150 for an "official" JMW world title fight?

    I did not say it was a sanctioned weight class. I said officially it was a fight at 172...not a sanctioned LHW fight. You can't impose penalties for coming in above the weight, if the contracted weight is not official. See how I did that?
    That is why, and here's the key...Ward is making his official debut at LHW next month.
