:think Andrade may be the worst style for Bute at 168. Ward maybe the second worst style for him, being slick and having a good inside game.
For one thing, he doesn't go straight foward or back. That could be useful against a guy like andre Ward. 50/50.
and I see no one's learned their lesson.... How in THE HELL is a B fighter from a secondary Boxing nation in Bootay gonna beat a versatile, and now PROVEN, American talent like Ward?.... This poll is even right now...lol....unbelievable....GARBAGE.
Unlike Kessler, Bute actually has even faster hands than Ward. But similar to Kessler his inside game is kind of lacking. I think once again the kind of ref this fight has would have an impact on the way the fight plays out. With a guy like Jay Nady, Bute wins a clear decision. With a guy like saturday's ref, Ward takes it.. With Bayless its 50/50.
Before this weekend, I would have picked Bute by UD. Now, I'm not so sure. I'd want to see Ward's next couple fights before making a real decision. It seems that Ward is much more versatile than I originally gave him credit for, and I could see him coming up with a gameplan to frustrate Bute. That said, Ward has yet to face a decent southpaw.
But Ward is actually a southpaw, though he fights from a right handed stance most of the time. Ward can fight Bute as a southpaw and take anyway his advantage of being a southpaw.
The question is would Ward be allowed to headbutt....and also if Ward KO'd Bute would the ref actually count him out?
Ward's nut sack must be stretched all the way to the ground by now. There's about a hundred people swingin' off it.
You been saying it for years? Really? Kinda hard to believe you considering you only have 5 posts......
Bute is worse than Kessler, (Kessler 120-108 Andrade, Bute almost KO'ed by Andrade) and Ward should use his speed to defeat him.
Boxing doesn't work like that. Otherwise, Hopkins would have lost to Pavlik. Ali would have lost to Foreman, etc....
Bute is a very tall, well-built southpaw with great KO power and an absolutely nasty left hook to the body. He will give Ward all sorts of problems. I don't even know if Ward has enough confidence in his southpaw stance to go lefty versus Bute. Switch-hitters generally switch to lefty to confuse orthodox fighters. . .dunno if Ward will do it against a true southpaw who has loads of power to boot. On the flip side, Andrade would have KOed Bute had the fight lasted 10-30 more seconds. He may have the blueprint to beat him. But Andrade is your typical iron-chinned Mexican pressure fighter. Also, Andrade was getting schooled by Bute until the 12th. Ward is not a pressure fighter and we know very little about his chin or about his will in times of adversity.
