I like the part on who will impose his will. That's often how it works in boxing.

Bute showed some signifiant improvements in his inside game but is it enough? Is Ward still able to box at distance like he was doing at the beginning of his career? Bute likes to box at mid-range. I think his power would be too much for Ward at that distance. Ward would have to choose the long distance or the inside game. Who will impose his favourite distance?

Bika was not as polished as he is now. It was a tough out for Ward but he still won the fight. Close but clear. Bika isn't an easy out for anyone right now.

As for Green, Ward lacks power. So he's going to go the distance regardless of who he faces. But he did dominate him.

I think it's clear now that Ward's bread and butter is his inside game. So if they fight, i'm sure that's where most of the action will take place unless if Bute can do something about it. Maybe a couple of well placed counter upper cuts will make Ward weary. But we are not talking about some C level fighter llke Miranda, Andrade or that last guy Bute KOed via the upper cut. So we just don't know if Bute's bread and butter punch will be effective against an all around fighter like Ward.

I think Ward can box on the outside i just think that he feels most comfortable on the inside. That's why he always initiates clinches.

I'm not sure that Bika is more polished now than a few years ago. His style hasn't changed a bit and he has not fought a lot since the Contender. Ward did win clearly though.

Bute's footwork is very good. He doesn't move for nothing but is very accurate. Ward has the same ability. People think Dirrell has a good footwork because he moves a lot, that's not my definition of a good footwork. Moving just what you need to move but as much as you need and as fast as you need. Both Bute and Ward do that very well and they will be as much surprised to have someone in front of them able to do it as well as they do.

My fav fighters to follow @ 168. I'm a Bute fan and will watch more of Ward before I decide to be a fan or not. I do love their styles but I just think Bute is all wrong for him. Ward recentlt has been coming in too much and getting caught by a Bute uppercut is something he wouldn't want to taste. I wish Ward goes back to his boxer-type ways as he is getting too accustomed to being a manhandler. I do wonder what he does against Abraham but lets find out.

I like Bute. But I think he's getting far too much credit for things he's yet to do and he's no way the best at 168 or even in the top 2, based on his record. Having said that, i think stylistically Bute would be Ward's toughest match-up IMO. Bute is a southpaw, who could get Ward to be more aggressive and get caught unsually square. Bute also has punches that come from underneath...if there's a flaw of Ward's it's that he leans in and makes himself susceptible for punches which come from underneath that he doesn't see, like a left uppercut to body and head. I would make Ward the favourite though, he's more proven right now IMO. He also has more strings to his bow and is just a completer fighter then Bute, who we've seen rattled.

    Yuou`re left behind with information.

If Bute beats Kessler in Oct-Nov and Ward wins the tournament, the fight will be in New York.Has been arranged.

When he faced Bute, Bika had three round won against Calzaghe. So, it`s, not about be polished.Usually, the bigger victory is THE VICTORY OF THE FIRST.Not to mention, despite a tighter fight Ward received much better cards!

If someone would say Miranda was more polished with Bute then with Ward (and he really was, if you saw the fight with the comments) you woud say Miranda won first.Yes, he did, but Bute won in three.

So, regarding common opponents Bute-Ward 2-0.

If Bute KO`s Kessler this fall you`d surely say: Oh, it`s a Kessler shot by Ward first.

    Ward by intentional butt.

    :rofl:rofl

I've never heard that one before, but I guess there's a first for everything. Look Mr.: Bute did a better job on Bika than Ward. It doesn't matter though as styles make fights.
