Prime for prime it would be a very interesting and close fight, now obviously not even worth discussing. Problem for Ward is he has very few big fight options out there for him at present.
I think it would be a great fight and would of been both fighters toughest fight. I am a HUGE Calzaghe fan as he best weapon was that he can adapt in a fight and overwhelm with volume , but i am also a HUGE Ward fan regardless of where i am from who is just a general in there. Head to head i would say that the result would change on any given night, but Ward's Career is not over yet, but it's hard to see what road to take. Maybe Sergio Martinez or Golovkin if they come up? I think alot of people go with the home country fighter and that is to be expected, but on a neutral point i see a close fight that could go either way.
Ward would spank any version of Calzaghe. Theres a bit of irony in Ward calling out the man who made his name off beating washed up ATG's.
I love that Calzaghe farce video. Still remember him winning the Manfredo fight on a flurry of blocked or missed shots. Still to this day, other than nationalistic bull****.. I have no clue how one could be a fan of slapping ***** of a fighter.
Bwah ha ha. Ward beats "Prime" Calzaghe worse than 50 year old Bernard Hopkins did - but he'll actually get the decision as opposed to Hopkins who was robbed blind. Joe couldn't run fast enough to get away from B-Hop and a rematch. Calzaghe's retired. Fight won't happen anyway. Regardless now is Andre Ward's time.
I love it when Joe C fights. If he came out of retirement it would be the biggest fight of the year hands down (barring Pacman and Floyd getting it on). This can't be denied.
