Roy got his just desserts for showboating against fighters that were clearly levels below him throughout his career.

Find that hard to believe, Ward entered into a competition where everyone travelled except him

unfortunately Ward's running out of guys to fight

at 168 he has to hope Bute can win a rematch with Froch because theres really nobody left

he could attempt to call out the winner of next weeks middleweight showdown but Martinez probably wouldnt go to 168 so he will have to hope Chavez wins and see if he can draw Chavez up for a big fight

maybe he can move up but the big fights there would be Dawson, who he already crushed, Cloud, Pascal, Campillo, or Shumenov

Calzaghe is a favorite of mine, a solid career, i rank him as the number 1 SMW of all time but a fight with Ward now would be dumb

ward is now 28 and clearly in his prime. he's a top 3 lb for lb fighter right now. hey, remember around 2000 when calzaghe was 28 and we were saying all the same things about him. :)

You mean just like Calzaghe called out and fought a 40yr old shot to bits Roy Jones or 43 yr old Hopkins.

it's a shame calzaghe gets his name thrown around with ward because they share the same weight class. one guy, ward, has chosen to fight the best that was around in their primes. the other, joe, was a coward who hid from any real competition for almost his entire career. the difference is class is massive.

one day ward will lose and then idiots on these boards will say, "see, i told you joe was better." ward is already way better than joe ever was.
