Discussion, not trolling. This guy is obviously trolling, trying to pick fights, and has posted quite few threads about the same thing.

American boxing is not in its glory day, that is for sure. American homers will tell you all the best would-be boxing talent is in other sports. There is likely truth to that, but it's also true that many of the guys who would be lacing them up are in prison, sadly. That's a real issue in this country.

Ward is a talented fighter. So is Dirrell. It's a good thing to see some young American talent, even if those guys need to iron out some of the cruder aspects of their games.

Dawson is a good fighter who is still pretty young. Pavlik is good if he's over his mental issues and sticks at MW.

There aren't tons of guys right now in the USA who are top-tier talents, at least not high-profile guys. Hopefully that will change and I hope it changes with guys who "bring it" as opposed to the track star kind of fighters. We'll see.

I agree, a bunch of headbutts, constant holding, hitting on the break and from what I saw 2 border line low-blows.

And the ref did almost nothing about it, I thought the ref was going to let Ward go on so he could stop Kessler and get 3 points but I was surprised when it went to the cards.

Kessler was outclassed yes I admit it and have no prob with it, but no one can deny that Ward was using alot of questionable tactics.

 

I'm not embarrassed. I'm American, but I'm a boxing fan.

Anyway, yeah Ward was doing a lot of questionable stuff. He was holding & hitting too. A lot. I don't like when fighters hold their glove in front of the opponents eyes to block their vision, and they they throw a punch. I believe that is also illegal, but not as big a deal as the headbutting i guess.

I think Ward still would have won the fight, but might have been more competitive. The ref sucked.

Kessler should have throw some uppercuts too. I think Andre was open for them, but Kessler didn't exploit that.
