Ward cleaned house at 168, is he in your top 5 P4P? If not what does he need to do?

Definitely in my top 5? He cleaned house in his division and to me there is no doubt who is the best at 168. I don't think he needs to go to Canada and fight Bute knowing he has no chance of a decision there. I can't see Bute defeating Ward considering the opposition he has faught. On the other hand one can never totally count another fighter out. It would make financial sense to fight on Canandian soil, but as I said it wouldn't be a fair fight. Ward would likely take care of business as usual to come out with a draw.

He hasn't fought Bute, and for some reason the Dirrell fight mysteriously didn't happen either.

I assume Ward is the best in the division, but he hasn't actually cleared it out yet.

Yes, he is my Top 5. Moreover, Ward should be selected as Fighter of the Year.

He aint completly cleaned house. He has cleaned everthing but the kitchen and that where Bute is residing. If he knocks off Bute then the house is clean. Bute is gonna be a real problem and right now I think it can go either way.

...maybe so. Maybe he should be in P4P top 5. If thats the case, the Ring needs to show Abner Mares some love too and consider him. Second to Ward and Froch, the man had a tough schedule and came out on top.

Ward may face a dilemma in that Bute might be the bigger money maker. Truth is Bute doesn't need Ward, he can make more money taking easy fights than Ward will make taking tough fights. That said, Bute's come out and said he'd travel to Oakland to make the fight, where Ward has made it clear it doesn't want the fight right now. I think Ward's the truth, but I don't like some of the tactics he's made both in and out of the ring.

I also think Bute's the truth. Don't confuse ability with opportunity. Lucian hasn't had the chance to fight the high level opposition because he was part of the tournament due to his contractual obligation with Andrade. Save for the first Andrade fight (a fight he dominated for atleast 10 rounds), he's performed flawless and exceptionally. Right now Bute should be Andre's highest priority because he's best and most lucrative opponent by far. I hope he's only stalling to build the fight bigger.

Hurt his opponents in the future more often, not the usual pillow fight display.

First he "unified the division". Now "He cleaned house in his division". Where the blazes are these posters coming from?

Dirrell? No. You can't possibly blame Ward for that fight not happening. Blame Team Dirrell and/or Abraham if you must.

He would need to beat Bute in order to actually "clean out the division." Most elite fighters never clean out a division...

Assuming he takes care of business at 168 vs. Bute, he needs to take out Martinez at a catch weight or one of the top LHW's convincingly (Hopkins, Dawson or Pascal) to be a solid top 5 P4P.

It is the weakest era in 168.
