Ward could appear on Cotto-Canelo, would be an HBO 3 fight deal

I bet Ward is demanding a chunk of the PPV revenue. That's why its taking so long to make a simple undercard fight.

 

Hopefully he fight's Kovalev or GGG in the 3, Kovalev being more willing.

Fans take fandom to an extreme who wouldn't want to co headline the second biggest fight in boxing... It's just smart business.

 

Well, this is unfortunate. I was hoping for Ggg-Ward in 2017 when Genady gets all 4 belts and is done with 160. Good for Ward though, he can't afford to be inactive in his prime years.

 

If ward goes on that card then he will stink out the whole main event....ward belongs in Turning stone casino to kick start his career

 

That's been the problem with Andre Ward for years now. He has a horrible management team in James Prince. They ask for too much money that cant be accommodated.

 

If he just a great fighter and next star then just find an opponent and fill up Oracle Arena in Oakland, why not?? Why are they trying to attach him to other PPV undercards? Cant his own name alone carry an event?

The latest I'm hearing is they are having a hard time finding an opponent that would be ready to go on Nov 21st. Even the bums aren't available!

 

Probably waiting for a Tucker Pudwill rematch at 174.5 catchweight.

 

Fact is Roc Nation will be losing money on every Ward fight if they keep paying him $2 million per fight which is likely what Ward expects. Ward doesn't even fill up the Oracle Arena he usually draws around the 7K mark and that's usually including giving tickets away on the door.

This is why they likely want him attached to another card so they can use it to absorb some of the losses they would get from a separate card.

 

They probably told them that they'll get 100 bucks purse and a bus ticket to the venue.
