Ward made Kovalev quit. Once a fighter quits he's never the same. I've been saying Kovalev is shot for a while. Kovalev prior to Ward would have gave Alvarez a beatdown. Not to mention Kovalev is a couple years older.

Not going to lie though. I enjoyed every bit of the stoppage!

EA just showed Ward how to beat Kov fair with boxing skills and power, not judges and nut shots.
    What a disgrace Ward is.

Kovalev is becoming a highlight reel for all the wrong reasons. He still hasn’t recovered mentally from Ward. He’s still a beaten fighter mentally and has no heart.

Being robbed then rapped is tough on a man's mental indeed. Gratz to Alvarez, he deserves all the credit.

Lol the usual suspects don't even care about Kov anymore though. They've moved onto Usyk, Loma, etc. Golovkin and Kovalev mean jack **** to them now. They dumped em like that. Only true fans of them were upset by this. To the rest, they just used this loss to discredit Ward.

I've seen it happen too many times now that I'd say it's an evident physiological fact: once a boxer's knocked out or badly hurt his chin isn't the same. Kovalev probably had a solid enough chin before Ward, but after the Ward loss he could no longer handle clean power punches. Ward definitely softened Kovalev up for Alvarez!

Ward didn't crack his chin. Ward broke him mentally in the second fight. Jackson is another negative factor.

Kovalev chin was tested only once with Boon. And the test wasn't good.

I'm not sure about that, but Alvarez wasn't a guy that I would have ever picked to knock his block off like that. Hmmmm

Pascal hit him with some pretty big shots. Pascal is a heavy hitter too.

I don't think that's the case at all. Kovalev was fighting well, making adjustments, and building momentum. There is no shame in losing to this caliber opponent in this type of fight, and the two losses to Ward had no bearing on this fight IMHO based on what I saw.

But Pascal was koed twice by Kovalev. Wkova getting stopped by a guy with a KO ratio is surprising to me.

My point was that Kovalev's chin was still intact during the Pascal/Ward fights but by the time he fought Alvarez he was damaged goods. I wasn't that surprised since Ward hurt him badly with that right. Ward is not a big puncher at 175. Don't get me wrong I picked Kov to win but after Kov goes past the 6th, I know he's very vulnerable.
