Dirrell is too fast for ward in my opinion and is going catch him coming in especially if ward has his head as low as he usually does, cant wait for this one
Quiet simply I don't no! I voted ward by UD as I have been really impressed with him (particularly against Kessler). But he hasn't been in with some1 in the super 6 who COULD beat him to the punch. I no dirrell has been slightly negative so far but needing a win I think he comes out more attacking. If this is the case I feel he might have the speed to beat ward to the punch to pinch a split decision. Ward is favourate, but I wouldn't bet my house on it
Will be interesting to see the build up. They've both been supporting each other in their fights up to now and now they're squaring off themselves.
I think stylistically Dirrell is gonna be Wards toughest fight. What you need to beat Ward is a lot of athleticism, speed and lateral movement. He's got some of those skills to give Ward trouble, but perhaps not enough of them. "Punch first" is the right idea. But Ward is so damn good at figuring out his opponents and adapting. I do think the early part of this fight might be all AD. But he lacks mental toughness down the stretch. Like i said this will be Ward's toughest challenge but I believe his team's been working on him like a 67 Corvette waiting for the candy paint to dry before putting it out on the road lol seriously this is a science project on display. How about how he keeps a shark fin D, blindfolds his opponent, rarely gets sloppy and always has his chin tucked...kid is un****ing believable lol these little veteran things he's doing that he's not ment to be doing at his age. Me and Mandanda have been on his bandwaggon since the Miranda fight, his style is not gonna be pleasing to the casual, but us real fans just marvel at it. Dream fight for me is Ward vs. Chad.
Yeah I agree.... it will go one of two ways. Hopefully Ward beats him, I know Dirrell was unfortunate in the eyes of many against Froch but his constant whining and refusal to accept that it was his own fault that the judges fired him really pissed me off. Just when he'd won me over, he starts playacting against Abraham :-(
I'm really, really, really looking forward to this one. Two of my favourite fighters going at it. Dirrell fighting for a title & for his place in the super six against the unbeaten world champion who is also his close friend. I think what Dirrell said during the broadcast was correct, it's very important for him to get off first & I think he has the speed to do that. I feel his timing will be important as well as I think he can land a couple of uppercuts when Ward comes in. Should be a cracking fight if you're into pure boxing, speed ETC. Hopefully it's in Detroit or at the worst a neutral venue. Dirrell close decision
Dirrell said it himself to beat Ward you need to be first to everything. for his entire career Dirrell has been a counter puncher so I cant see it. I no allot of people thought Wrd vs Green was a boring fight, I did not......but Ward vs Direll will be a snooze fest. Personally i see Froch has the only fighter able to beat Ward in the super 6 and i see that as highly unlikley.
Ward by decision. He's shown something Dirrell hasn't: in-fighting ability. So I'd assume if Dirrell is too tricky for him Ward will turn up the heat. And we know what happens to 'The Matrix' when that happens :yep
Ward is quickly becoming the "new" Hopkins.Effective but boring as ****.At least the Euro's come to fight and are prepared to put it all on the line.Ward stinks out the joint and is just content to win and **** the entertainment value.:dead
This is a quality fight between two fast fighters who have skills. Dirrell doesn't have the inner fortitude that Ward has shown but who knows. If Ward wins this fight too then he is a serious fight who has beat tall guys, fast guys, power punches etc To date he hasn't lost enough rounds to lose a 12 rounds fight. That's serious **** but thankfully it is rooted in the fact he abandoned his RJJ impression.
