Its just that everyone in the s6 traveled, so logically he should have as well. I dont see why he deserves a special threatment just because he is American. His opposition also is lesser than lets say froch' which makes it look like a thought out route to make the next American superstar by showtime. I just hope the judges are fair in the fight with froch and it doesnt end up making boxing look bad. If he clearly beats froch I have no problem ranking the guy #1 at 168.

Yeah I totally understand. I was amongst those that was heavily criticizing Ward and his promoter, early on in the tournament, when it became clear that they were pushing for consecutive fights in Oakland. If all of the originals had remained in the competition, and Ward did this, then I'd understand why people are still talking about it.

But since that didn't happen due to people pulling out - which probably affected Ward's route more than anyone else's - I don't think people should continue jumping on his back for it. It's become a non-issue, now.

Can't wait for the final, though. :happy

    Judges are fair. :rofl

Thats hilarious considering the only fighter to get a gift in the tournament due to European ****** judging was Carl Froch.

Where are the people who loved to get on their high horse about David Haye not being a gentlemen and were throwing out euphemisms left and right? Come on, don't be a hypocrite - I want to hear you refer to Froch as "uncivilized", etc.

You really mean Ward not getting disqualified for headbutting Kessler was no gift? :think

But the other contestants weren't impacted by the pull-outs like Ward was (something totally out of his control). He had two back-to-back sceduled fights with Super Six originals, replaced. The mandatory task of then travelling no longer applied to him, like it did to the others who remained relatively unaffected, in comparison, by the injuries.

Ward landed maybe 2 headbutts the entire fight. All came after the 5th round when he was already whipping Kesslers ass.

None of the headbutts were intentional, Ward was fighting out of the South Paw stance, thus headbutts occur alot when a southpaw fights an orthodox fighter.

Kessler was an overrated European hypejob who couldnt win a round vs an American prospect.

    Any questions? :good

The headbutts in the Kessler fight were ugly, to fair. They definitely didn't allow Kessler to fight properly, and I wouldn't argue with anyone who claims Kessler was disadvantaged by them.

But with that said, it can't be compared to Agbeko-Mares - where the infringements had a direct impact on the result of the fight.

Would you agree that Ward's best win is Kessler? It is from my perspective.

Thus, his best win is over an "overrated European hypejob"?

If that's the case, how can anyone have any reason for rating Ward no 1 at SMW(I'm not saying you neccessarily do, but plenty of people do), if his signature win is over what you've essentially described as a Bum.

Your thoughts, mate? Be interested in your opinion here.

    Come on.

Ward launched forward with his shaved head in billy goat position, with all of his might behind the momentum.

Of course Ward whipped Kessler even without his headbutting. Probably he will UD Froch. But the headbutts WHERE intentional :deal

Ward does not do anything in the ring without a thought behind it. Stop beeing so fanboy delusional about it.

So Andre Ward intentional swung his head around the ring, hoping to catch Kessler with a headbutt. Never mind the fact that a misplaced swing would hurt him just as much as Kessler.

Please the fights online, show me an intentional headbutt.

you're very good it seems in divining the intentions of professional boxers.

Mike Tyson deliberately bit Holyfield's ear. Pretty clear.

When a soccer player goes after the ball with his head near the goal, it's usually pretty obvious that he "means to do it", i.e. that it's intentional.

An intentional headbutt has a certain look to it. The head is rapidly swung around, with the full force of rotation, and headbutter aims directly for the skull of his adversary. It happens fast, and you can see the head swivel around rapidly.

Show me where that happens in Ward-Kessler. I'd love to see it. I want to be persuaded that you know what you're talking about.
