Ward talks about other fighters and then he does not fight anyone. He just keeps fooling around and waste a lot of his time. So BS a boxer!

His first year back has been nothing but a disappointment. Took him months to arrange a comeback fight after signing with Roc Nation in January. I could accept an easy first fight as he had been inactive so long. But if he does fight again this year it will be likely in November as it will take at least 2 months to arrange and the opponent will likely not be ranked highly based off them approaching Zac Dunn.

I'm losing patience with him and the direction of his career much like with Calzaghe in the early 00's who I was a fan of but become disenchanted by his career and just stopped watching him. If Ward doesn't up his game soon I suspect I will again just stop watching him fight or following his career.

Just like Calzaghe, Ward has so much ability and talent but he's throwing it all away due to a lack of ambition. Maybe he can turn it around like Calzaghe did at the end but it will likely again be a case of a fighter wasting their prime years and underachieving.

Yet Ward has done more in career so far even with 2-3 years in retirement, than Calzaghe did in his whole career.

A total waste of great talent. Still, better than getting your head knocked off by Sergey and Artur

Debatable. At the moment excluding Calzaghe's jump up in weight to beat BHop I'd say Ward has achieved almost as much as Calzaghe at super middle did over his entire career with the exception of Ward not winning the IBF belt. Ward is inactive while Calzaghe fought a lot of nobodies.

I'd say there is not much separating them in terms of quality opposition fought at super middle. Ward beat Kessler, Froch and Dawson, while Calzaghe beat Kessler, Lacy and Eubank. If I was to pick one over the other I'd pick Calzaghe, he did win all the belts unlike Ward and he has more defences of his title.

Ward could easily surpass Calzaghe though as he has time on his hands. But he's so far wasting it, beating Rodriguez and Smith mean nothing as does going for a Zac Dunn kind of level of opponent for his next fight. To quote Angelo Dundee "You're blowing it son, you're blowing it!"

Lacy is nowhere close to Kessler, Froch or Dawson. I'd easily pick ward.

I thinks all of his wrong doing is very suspicious all together. He has (successfully) dictated terms of his fights (judges, refs, location) from the beginning. His long layoff is also very suspicious. There are no logical reasons why he has act like this the last 6 years - He is losing money and reputation.

In these circumstances his inactivity indicates something else than we have been told. Maybe something to do with his health; injury or side effect of drugs of some kind (peds etc.). His weight is also a question mark - why hide his fight night weight so many years? What does he gain from that? Have to assume he is dehydrating a lot.

And last, why dictate terms so heavily if he feels he is better than the rest? I have to assume, he´s not that good.

he's definitely the worst of the names I mentioned. But Calzaghe's length of reign, number of defences, combined with winning the IBF belt gives him the slight edge at the moment in terms of resume as super middle for me.

He is going to be forced into fighting Kovalev and he is going to get brutally KOed.

Calzaghe would have destroyed Ward, lets not even go there shall we.

He also held all 4 belts at SMW and then went up and beat the man at 175. He was simultaneously the champion in two divisions.

I don't see Ward trying to unify the SMW division or go after the man Kovalev at 175.

Ward fanboys are deluded, nothing can excuse what he's done in the last 2-3 years. But hey, I heard Paul Smith has a brother :rofl:rofl:rofl

ward fan boys are delusional? I'm not even a ward fan LOL, but calzaghe fans are definitely delusional, they think he's an ATG and coudl even compete with Ward when he's spent msot of his career feeding off bums and ancient 40+ year old men and one of those fights was controversial.

Other than Manny Pacquaio and Juan Manuel Marquez, name an active fighter who has a better resume.

For someone who isn't a Ward fan you seem to post about him a lot?

And why are you talking about Calzaghe fans, this thread is about Ward.

    FAIL

He's got a pretty good resume up to this point.

These next 15 months will tell a good story. If he can get Kovalev or GGG in the ring sometime soon, it will be worth the wait.
