Ward has shrunk!

    Showtime has just released the tale of the tape for the upcoming Ward-Green fight:

    Now look at Ward's stats for the fight against Mikkel Kessler:

    So... Andre Ward has:
    * Shrunk two inches in height!
    * Grown a much larger chest and larger biceps.
    * Shrunk two inches in reach!
    * Grown much thicker ankles (retaining water?).

    Either that, or I won't ever trust any "tale of the tape" numbers ever again...

    Yeah it happens all the time in boxing where stats are concerned, especially the height. I think they fiddle it slightly to make fights seems more appealing, I dunno.

    Yeah he went from 5'9" to 5'11" often.

    Yeah, it kinda baffles me, too.
    What I would find appealing, is proper, accurate stats so that one could discuss them and ponder what difference height and reach, e.g. would make in a fight .
    Lying about stats or being inaccurate with them actually neutralizes the whole point of having stats in there.

    I guess it has to do with his fight against Mikkel, he rammed into him so hard with his head time after time his body shrunk 2" from the impact. :D

    You're probably right! But to be fair - then he also must've punched Kessler hard enough to shrink his own wingspan by 2".
