Yup, it's called Tribalism and it's innate in human beings. There is nothing wrong with it but in some parts where uber-liberalism is preached so hard some people are foolish enough to equate tribalism, rooting for your own, with racism.

Just because you root for whatever you consider your tribe to be doesn't mean you hate anothers tribe. Uber-liberals are some of the most intolerant people there are, **** them.

What's natural isn't necessarily right. Generally the progression of society over human history has been the story of people becoming less and less like our "natural" selves, meaning less primalistic, irrational, vengeful, etc...

And it's one thing to talk about preferring your particular race or ethnic group in, say, a boxing match, but when you extend that to the political arena, or the workforce, or whatnot you end up with a supremely dysfunctional society. Like the United States.

 

Racist has come to my mind before too. But let's be fair, he's prejudice. Christo is a better example of racist.

 

In the super-six, is it possible that Ward can meet Kessler again on Kessler's hometurff?? I'd like to see a ref supporting Kessler's cleaner style. I imagine such a fight would be more interesting to watch. Ward without the holding and headbutting should be a pleasure to watch based on what we saw yesterday.

You're not a racist. And even if you were, it doesn't show here. You don't use racist words. You don't make racist comments. You DO favor white fighters though. That is obvious. But it is your right to do so.

 

What exactly is a different ref going to do for Kessler? He was holding as much as Ward was and Kessler was in trouble as early as the 3rd round, while Ward was never in trouble. At worst Ward could have lost a point for one headbutt and still would have won very very comfortably at the time of the stoppage. People act like the headbutt and ensuing cut took Kessler out of the fight, but he was never in it. Hell, the only time he looked like he wanted to win was after it happened when his corner told him he needed a KO to win. It was far too late by then.

 

Though you are right, we may yet still see a rematch in Denmark. I believe the outcome will be the same, but I wonder what the excuses will then be.
