I agree with you there .

I said this pretty much in another thread . We all need to accept the result already.

Robberies happen in boxing and there's nothing we can do about it .

We either learn to accept good and bad in this sport or no longer follow the sport period .

People keep repeating the same thing .

    " It was Close"

    " It was very close"

Yup , It was close but with a pretty much clear victor .

That's pretty bad scoring whoever gave Ward only 3 rnds. He won 5 rnds and looked impressive doing it .

The majority is correct this time around .

To me, Ward was the clear victor. I see how and why people want to give it to Kovalev but just don´t have it that way.
    Reminds me of Hagler-Leonard.
It is what it is, but fortunately we will get a rematch(at least so it appears).

A rematch is in order. No point in screaming about it now. If Ward doesn't have the rematch he will have the question mark over this win. Plus Kov is the most lucrative option at 175.

I can see why GGG never fancied him for sure

Wards style is wrong for everyone and I don't mean the Ward who fought Barrara,I think he came out with the intention to purely box until he got rocked,he'd make an amazing MMA fighter as his wrestling is first class and unlike BHop he could jump in and hold without getting tagged.

Great thread. I think the rematch makes the most sense for both fighters. It's already selling itself with all the controversy. It would be a financial mistake for Ward not too. That said I think the rematch will be close again. These fighters are evenly matched. Ward is just smarter while Kov has more power.

Kovalev was spitting sour grapes, talking about how he was just a guest in the States and suggesting that Ward got a home town decision. The crowd booed that remark so I guess that means that Kovalev will be leaving the country as soon as possible. You think.

Yeah, but Kovalev ain't no slouch in locking up himself, the only difference is that Ward knows how to punch with it too. Maybe Kovalev learned something.

I made this thread despite being a huge Kov fan! He's my fav fighter in the sport. But I have to give credit where credit is due if I'm going to be real. Ward did what NO OTHER KRUSHER opponent could do, and that's hold his own. He had Kov very tentative in there. Ward proved his greatness. Now it's GGGs turn. All this talk of racist fans, I've seen many black fans give KRUSHER tremendous credit and props, with many having him the winner. GGG needs to step up and fight the winner of Jack Degale. If 160 don't want it then it's time to prove your greatness. Ward stood toe to toe with the bigger and far more powerful man. He did it using his boxing skills. Can GGG do that ??? Let's see

Absolutely and you're right about em being evenly matched,I think both guys showed us something,Ward showed that in a big fight having been hurt he had the heart of a champ and Kovalev proved he's not all about power and can really box thus making him the best of the rest in that division in my opinion.
I'll be interested to hear what numbers it's done as I've only heard Larry Marchent say a rematch ain't necessary and surely a rematch would give both guys an even better pay day,a bad fight it wasn't.

True and this is one typical in boxing. They do it a lot in Japan on hometown decisions as well.
