Carlos Molina fights the EXACT SAME WAY as Bernard Hopkins and Andre Ward. And he fights world class opponents and either wins or gets robbed. But Hopkins and Ward happen to be american and are called "top p4p fighters" and Molina's style gets called "unwatchable" here on eastside. Give me a ****ing break.
If Molina had the right nationality, the olympic medal (like Ward), the promotional backing and the right record (all those robberies ****ed up his record), he would be regarded as one of the top p4p boxers in the world.
Btw Julio Cesar Chavez Jr is now a superstar cause of his daddy's name, and did anybody of you watch Chavez Jr vs Molina I ??? That was the biggest robbery I ever saw. Molina clearly won all 6 rounds and the judges scored it a draw. I havent seen the rematch but I heard it was also a robbery.

people who don't know **** about boxing said molina's fight was un-watchable. I enjoyed it a lot and my hardcore boxing freinds did too.

    Yup. Agree.

Mosley even used the same strategy against Margarito, he just has power.

Nothing you write after that can be taken as seriously as you'd like it to. Throwing fast combinations while fluidly moving on the inside like Ward before grabbing to reset, or throwing sharp well-timed leads and counters out of a controlled pace while periodically rushing inside to do work in the clinch like Hopkins, are completely different things to what Molina was doing. I didn't find Molina's style "unwatchable", but there's a clear difference in style and class which you're completely glossing over just to make a point. Molina's a good fighter, but his defense doesn't require gross generalizations of other great fighters.

Our Brit commentator here, Jim Watt, said something along the lines of "Noone knows who Molina is, so he doesn't deserve it. We need Kirkland to win".

    Ridiculous.

I think it's fair to say that ppl who like Molina or dislike JK though Molina was fighting a smart fight. Ugly, spoiling, defensive, but smart. And was WINNING.

PPL who like Kirkland or dislike Molina(if there is such a thing) though it was cheating, ugly etc. I mean when a guy is beating the next Mike Tyson, and the hopes of their hero becoming that megastar are slipping away........well, we just say some stupid ass ****.:lol::lol:

Agreed Bog'. There is a complete different in level of skill in and method in how Molina executed his fight. He did what he could with his limitations but to compare him to Hopkins or Ward is :patsch. Either way, I did not find the fight unwatchable but I could certainly was not aesthetically pleasing. He's a typical spoiler and good at what he does.

Molina is nowhere near as talented as Ward or Hopkins. Furthermore, Ward and Hopkins are consistently criticized for their fighting styles.

see and thats what is wrong with you. Molina fought guys on the same level as Hopkins and Ward did. Molina fought the best in the world in his weight class and he beat them (or got robbed)
Ward's fights usually look like total crap (e.g. Ward vs Bika which Ward didnt even win in my opinion), or watch Hopkins vs Roy Jones 2 or other Hopkins fights- both Ward and Hopkins clinch A LOT MORE than Carlos Molina.

this is dead on accurate. One thing about molina is that at his best, he makes his fights competitive against decent fighters. Hopkins and ward, they both dominate on many occasions whereas I don't think Molina has that ability.

If you're actually trying to suggest that Molina is as talented as Ward or Hopkins, then there is nothing else to be said. Your idea of what constitutes talent is seriously flawed.
