New Andre Ward interview.....talks about Rios-Alverado, Floyd, and Chavez. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5zNDwY5IKc
Chavez provides a lot of money and that's what Ward is looking for. After clearing out the super six, he deserves some paydays.
Ward is a helluva talent but I'd like to see him be willing to compromise with opponents and meet halfway for CW's or let them come in at their natural weight. That's what ATG's do. Ward isn't one yet but he has the skillset to get there... if he can stay healthy (and find legit opposition)
If Chavez can rack up a few good wins and get back to form and continue improving, he'd be a solid test. I'd always favor Ward but it would be a match with merit.
I would like to see Chavez prove he was a top 10 SMW before he tangos with the best out there, and one of the best ever. That would mean at least 3 fights from now since his June comeback will be with a MW at a catchweight between MW-SMW. Then 2 fights with actual SMW's. That puts the target time for around June of next year. If that goes down, than this will be a worthy fight. If it happens straight after his June comeback up at SMW, I will not be in support of this fight.
This would be nice. And if Chavez is done at 160, which I've recently read and think is true, than have Golovkin come up to the same catchweight that whoever he fights in June agrees to. Afterall, "Golovkin will fight absolutely anybody," right? Or is that only if they are junior middleweights? I forget. Actions speak louder than words, so my guess is neither side would go anywhere near the other.
