The CSAC merely withdrew his licence to box in Ca because they suspected he'd committed a crime based on a blatant lie.

I was a fan of Ward but indifferent about AJ.

 

His suspension was upheld in Nevada as well. He was banned from the sport here in the US for a time for loaded gloves period.

 

And I'm sure some of them liked Ward and some of them, probably the majority of them, were completely neutral about him.

So Ward's statement was both pointless (since he never fought at HW or came anywhere close to even suggesting a fight with AJ) and unnecessarily aggravating to fans who wished him no ill will during his reign, not to mention flat out disrespectful to a fighter who to the best of my knowledge never said a bad word about him.

That's not something to praise IMO, but maybe you disagree.
