He's got nowhere else to go.

It's a wise move that will massively increase his earning potential. That is unless Carl beats the sh*t out of him.

About time. Ward wins everytime and really don't understand why his put off the fight and payday for so long.

Not a Wembley fight though. Not a chance.

This is true, Wembley stadium has a capacity of 90K and this fight isn't as big as the 2nd Groves fight, fewer casuals will care about Ward. So we can forget about Wembley stadium.

The City stadium has a capacity of 30K and you could maybe fit another 10,000 with seats on the pitch. So Hearn is thinking this fight could sell between 30K to 40K or close to it. This also rules out the O2 Arena as that only has a capacity of 20K and also the MEN Arena which has a capacity of 21K in fact no indoor arena will be big enough in the UK, it's a stadium fight.

I love the fact the Yanks say Ward schooled Froch. The fight was decided by just 1 round and Ward constantly held Froch whilst also headbutting him at every opportunity. The English refs will expose Ward's tactics and Froch will win the fight.

Ward doesn't want go fight in Nottingham. Wembley or nothing seems to be his approach.

Did you even watch the Ward-Froch fight? There was ONE round in it and Ward held and headbutted Froch at every opportunity.

Not sure if the Wembley idea will take off.

Groves-Froch was huge because it was 2 British guys fighting a rematch after a massively disputed first fight, and Groves was actually from London.

I dont know how Ward-Froch will get enough interest to fight in an 80,000 seater stadium

Well I did because according to the judges scorecards, there was one round in it.

Judges also gave the Bradley-Pac 1 fight to Bradley.

Its called bad scoring. The 118-110 scorecard was much closer to the mark

Yes but doesn't that suggest the judges weren't falling for Andre Wards grab and butt tactics?

Andre Ward is a fantastic fighter BUT anyone who doesn't step into a ring for 3 years deserves criticism. Froch has been active and winning big fights in that 3 year period.

Ward already said in an interview about a year ago that guys like Stevenson and Kovalev don't do anything for his resume.
Interestingly enough he mentioned GGG's name in that group as well.
That was back when Chavez Jr was still a young hungry lion, according to Ward:rofl

i'm surprised Froch is willing to travel to the united kingdom of oakland, ca. the good news is we won't have to listen to Ward's boring ass commentary while he's clinching and headbutting.

The fight simply isn't big enough to fill Wembley stadium. Ward may have that as his number 1 alternative option to Nottingham's City ground but it's never going to happen.

Froch/Groves 2 was huge, Froch will never be involved in a fight like that again. Froch is a big draw but even he can't fill 80K seats himself and Ward brings zero interest from casual fans.

If Ward is expecting Wembley and a similar sized purse then he's deluding himself. Froch can draw 20K himself and maybe Ward being his opponent and potentially avenging a loss can draw in extra fans but nowhere near enough to fill Wembley.
