I just said there is no logic to picking the winner. We'll see if Ward is even serious. I think we have a better chance of seeing Froch/GGG in the fall. If you are desperate for a bet, I'm backing Pacman to beat Mayweather in a real fight that looks to be happening.
I don't see much point in the rematch, he beat him very handily, there wasn't any controversary or question about who won the fight. There's no reason to think the next fight would yield a different result either. Not to mention Carl is older now and really at the twilight of his career. Not too interested in this.
That's just Froch's opinion not a concrete quote from Ward or an official statement. Ward says he will come to the UK, just not Nottingham. This of course is simply one small component of what will be a complicated negotiation. Ward has finally seen sense and realised all roads lead to Froch if he wants to make a big pay day. Still very early to suggest a fight will happen so I can understand Froch's skepticism especially with Ward's track record. But the fight will go to purse bids very soon if my memory serves me correctly so we will know soon if this fight gets made or not.
There is no logic to picking a winner? You either think Ward can come back successfully or you dont. I think he will and win the fight handily IF it happens. Im asking what you think. Will he or will he not be able to pick up where he left off? If you dont think so i can agree with your basis of him not being elite. If you think he can than just admit you still think hes elite. As far as Pac-May...its a 50/50 fight in my opinion. I will certainly be rooting for Manny though.
That is playing the lottery, making a gamble, nothing logical behind that. I don't know, how the hell can anyone know that? I don't know if he can. He's had surgeries and two years of inactivity. There's reason to doubt he can't. If he's still elite, he needs to prove it in the ring, not accomplishments back dated 3-7 years.
Did Tyson prove it after coming out of prison? Did Vits prove it after coming off his lay off? If it was good enough for them than why not Ward if he fights a guy he has already beaten?
Ward will not take this fight , he will be stubborn and ask for a crazy amount of money claiming to be the greatest fighter in the world. Ward is talented but isnt the SOG.
Willing ti fight in the UK anywhere but Nottingham is nothing to do with Ward thinking he will not get a fair shake in Nottingham compared to say London ( it makes no difference ) it is simply about ego and not wanting to bow to all of Froch's terms I think he is crazy because for me Ward wins the fight handily so why not just go for it This fight seels out the City Ground in Nottingham It is not a Wembley Stadium fight, but is too big of the O2 Froch v Groves sold Wembley because of the controversy of the first fight and Eddie Hearn knows this Ward needs to lose the ego and realise the potential of his bragging rights once he goes to Nottingham and beats Froch again Boxing will move on without Ward , just like Froch did after losing, building his profile even more and earn a shed load of money, Ward needs to realise that
So thats it then? The fight isnt within walking distance of Frochs house, the fight doesnt happen? Derby, Sheffield, Stoke wouldnt do? Not even a spin in the car down to London?
I don't think Froch wants to take this fight. The JCC fight makes more sense, offers a Vegas fight to bow out on(should he choose to) and after re-watching the Froch/Ward fight, is one Froch thinks realistically he can win. Froch has an ego to match the best of them, but after the loss to Ward he looked humbled. First time I've seen that from him. I don't see him having an answer to what Ward brings so don't see this going ahead.
Fully expecting a throw-back shameless British fiasco in favor of Froch in this one. Should be comical while it lasts.
he did finish the fight quite strong though, and is possibly more confident of a win with a smaller ring + a ref who'se going to pull ward up on his clinches. if he does lose, he was expected to lose anyway, he's lost to him before so it doesn't really tarnish his legacy too much. So he hasn't got it all to lose as such which is why I can see the fight happening. If ward wants to come to England that is. regarding wards inactivity, froch hasn't fought for over 12 months either (come the time they fight) so he may have some ring rust too potentially, being older as well.
