Absolutely. The only active fighter along with Nonito Donaire with ATG/HOF potential.

All good fighters. But not the type of 'special' potential i'm talking about.

Don't you know that in that fight Ward was illegally ducking under Abraham's punches? That's "cheating". How dare he avoid Abraham's punches.

Those fans are casual fans that don't understand what they are watching and how special it takes for a fighter to have great movement, stamina, speed and skills. History doesn't rate fighters based on how clueless fans treated them.

He will never be forgotten if he wins this tournament and continues to dominate in the sport, that's nonsense. No one expected him to go this far in the tournament let alone win it.

Ward is the kind of guy who has fans clinging to his nuts simply because he's winning, but the moment he loses fans will **** all over him because his style is way too easy to hate.

    - Ward's whole boxing learning curve will thwart any chances of it becoming a Froch/Pascal or Maidana/Khan.

    - If anything, and I think Froch is a great warrior, but Ward will simply outpoint Froch.

    - Ward is very strong/athletic - deceptively so - doesn't look as strong as Froch but probably is.

    - I'm a Brit, but Ward is too good for anyone in the 168 division including Bute.

    - The only way Ward wins fans is by winning a one-sided demolition job like he did with Edison Miranda - absolutely wooped him in every department apart from KO'ing him.

He was the second pick to win it actually with Kessler slightly ahead.

Nonsense. He was a huge underdog in the tournament and an underdog in the Kessler fight.

No what he does is not special.
    Punch, clinch, headbutt, elbow.
    Punch, clinch, headbutt, elbow.
    Punch, clinch, headbutt, elbow.
    Punch, clinch, headbutt, elbow.

What JMM does is special. What PBF does is special.

It is not being a casual fan. Its recognizing greatness from just a winning strategy.

I'm not sure if Americans are desperate for champions but they sure as hell aren't desperate, cheap and low enough to support no skill garbage that load up their gloves to call out and lose to smaller opponents.

If you consider all his fights being punch/clinch/headbutt/elbow then you're being foolish. I will agree that the Kessler fight was a disgrace in many ways but have you honestly seen any other fights of his?
